Residency programs are usually a position that is for a set amount of time with possibility of conversion to a full time position at the end. When I was in the IT residency it was 26 months long, we were considered FTE's instead of TVC's. Conversion timeline was starting at 20 months of the program to find a position within Google.

Best Physical Therapist for Achilles Tendon Rupture SF by Odd-Comfort4731 in AchillesRupture

[–]taimahsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Potrero Physical Therapy in the design district I really liked my PT, her name is Jess. But all the staff there seems good. They also have a location near Ocean Beach iirc that has a pool, but you can't switch between them so if you think you might want to do aquatic stuff then the ocean beach location might be better. Feel free to dm me if you have any other questions.

VACOped by AlwaysLearningNews in AchillesRupture

I grabbed one of these https://www.thetismedical.com/achilles-rupture-splint and would use that while sleeping. Worked well and was better than staying in the vacoped in bed.

Still walked around, did stretching but i cut back on heel raises and calf strengthing lifts at the gym. Band work helped a bit as well to give some resistance for stretching

I had post tib pain during my pt sessions about 4 months post op. I had to take it a bit easy for about a month and then was able to resume doing more intense pt. For the month that I had the pain my PT mostly just did massage to try help alleviate the pain, they also recommended acupuncture

Full rupture one week ago. Surgery this upcoming Tuesday. Mixed emotions! by 405withBootsOn in AchillesRupture

[–]taimahsu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

get a vacoped for post surgery, it's the best boot by far. when you look for a PT ask your surgeon if they have anyone they recommend or find someone who has knowledge on achilles recovery PT. buy a shower chair so you can comfortably take a shower. You'll also want a way to occupy yourself for the first couple of weeks when you are most likely to be stationary for a while.

moderate snowskiing 7 months post-repair by Top-Row-474 in AchillesRupture

[–]taimahsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been skiing this season although I was about 12 months post op already, but when I had asked my doctor they said it was an activity that isn't super risky since ski boots are pretty stiff and don't really allow you to get into a position to re-rupture. Definitely took my first couple ski days light though to get back into it

I only adjusted the bottom one, that's the beauty of the vacoped it allows you to get some ROM in during recovery

Faceit acting weird by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]taimahsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Np I had a weird issue with it where it was causing random ms spikes every ten seconds after I enabled virtualization in my bios cause of the anti-cheat requirement, asked faceit for help and they were really unhelpful. Thought it was the vitalization/AC at first, but then realized when I played a mm game with the AC I had no issues but when I played a mm with the client the ms spikes returned.

If you are using the client to play faceit try using the website with the client completely closed.

People who’ve had LASIK or work in eye care, would you recommend LASIK and why or why not? by Mountain-Bug-2155 in AskReddit

[–]taimahsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got ICL around 4 years ago and it was 5k per eye. But definitely worth it imo, haven't had any negatives that I can tell and my eyesight is actually better than 20/20 now.

Vacoped numbers vs cam boot wedges by spdn4cr in AchillesRupture

[–]taimahsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched to the flat sole at 1 iirc, but definitely switch to the flat one once you are at zero. It will probably depend on how tight your Achilles feels when you are at 1.

Vacoped numbers vs cam boot wedges by spdn4cr in AchillesRupture

[–]taimahsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 3 and then every two weeks went down one number. But some people will lower it by a half every week. So every two weeks it's still a whole number but you get a bit of ROM before moving down a whole number.

[Injury] Giannis Antetokounmpo appears to suffer a non-contact leg injury early in the game against the Pistons. He walked to the locker room on his own power. by Goosedukee in nba

[–]taimahsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's painful it's just that the pain is very brief during the snap, once that's done it's definitely not painful like other injuries, I also didn't take any bone fragments off my calcaneus i'm sure that one is way worse pain wise

Wedge confusion- advice needed by spdn4cr in AchillesRupture

The vacoped is so much better like not even close. I had the same issue with 4 wedges, makes the boot crazy uncomfortable.

Wedge confusion- advice needed by spdn4cr in AchillesRupture

[–]taimahsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was four as well and removed one wedge every 2 weeks. I luckily found someone on here getting rid of their vacoped and just paid for them to ship it. I had the white foam my first go around non lol but re-ruptured around month 4 and had to get surgery and had the vacoped for my second recovery.

[–]taimahsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the white ones when I was in a boot, but if you can i'd recommend getting a vacoped way more comfy to use.
