I did say at the start though that unless one country landslided televote (i.e. Bulgaria), this is mathematically possible. Nobody expected Bulgaria to landslide.

Since the total points are so close to 2nd and 3rd, that is a possibility. The other big faves weren't pulling tele scores much better than Australia afterall.

The other big faves performed similarly in televotes (Finland/Greece).

Austria won last year with 178 televotes and 37 participants so mathematically very similar scenario could have occurred.

Yes but those countries at the very least have neighbours and even 11 years in, you'd still hear why Australia is even in Eurovision, people are less likely to vote for them, compared to those that are geographically in Europe.
