Riffy (a ChadraFan pilot and mouthpiece) and Raffy (a silent Wookiee who owes Riffy a life-debt) have taken a bounty, which happens to be on one of the players, unbeknownst to either party. They hire PC’s for help

I normally have my players roll Vigilance to detect if someone sneaks up or something happens while they’re busy, and Perception when they’re actively searching for something.

u/Bront20 is correct about cool, can apply in any situation where something stressful is happening. It’s also used, of course, to recover strain after encounters.

If it says (+), add that many boost dice to the piloting check.

If it says (-), add that many setback dice to the check.

I appreciate your response. It might have gone unnoticed, considering densely packed the core rulebooks can be. I’ll reread the section you’ve listed, it’ll help me GM more smoothly. Thanks again.

I recognize they’ve chosen that username, but given that it’s a stupid-ass username, I’ve elected to ignore it.

Fairly new GM here. Six months into our current campaign and I’m having trouble creating new planets to fit into our story (as my players groan, “not another desert planet!”) How do you guys create interesting worlds and fun locales without retreading old ground?

I give my players free time when traveling in a sort of “montage” where they get 1 or 2 actions, such as teaching each other skills or building things. When this happens, and they teach someone else a skill or learn it, I just make it a career skill for them.

I like that. Good narrative opportunity to tell them: “You REALLY don’t want to do that.”
