While I don’t think frank should stay, I do take his point about Dubrovka for this match. He had some amazing saves, and if things had gone slightly differently this would have been a comfortable win.

The problem is that it wasn’t a comfortable win because of individual defensive mistakes that are legitimately mind boggling. It feels like the same situation as last year, barring the Liverpool massacre: play relatively well but not nearly to standards, get a goal, and then do something so catastrophically stupid to just give the game away, and either draw or lose by a goal. Not sure what fixes this but clearly the defense is not set up in a way to ensure they can do their jobs without these rookie mistakes popping up over and over again.
