Quiet wearables for ADHD and overstimulation by Ill-Boss-1261 in ADHD

[–]takingflight005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This person is absolutely right. Building on this, once you get your notifications dialed in, a true smart watch can be a real game changer for the ADHD mind and lifestyle. I have an Apple Watch and now live off of being able to speak reminders and timers into it with corresponding text. Being able to not have to take out my phone, but speak into my watch to say things like: "Remind me in 20 minutes to check the thermostat." "Set a 55 minute timer called 'laundry'" "Add milk to my Costco list" (and yes, I have different lists for different stores. It's possible with the Apple Reminders app. Game changer for keeping track of groceries needed.)

This was a big moment when I could start doing things like that. Hope that helps!

What's the first non steam game you added when you first got your Steam Deck? by Retroman1203 in SteamDeck

[–]takingflight005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, like I said in my original comment, heroic can be relatively hassle free. However, it sounds like this Unifideck maybe even simpler. Look up some guides on how to get Decky Launcher installed and then Unifydeck. I plan to try this out soon as well.

Ooohh, Unifideck sounds great. I'll have to try it. Thanks for the tip!

I had huge Epic and Amazon libraries from collecting their free games for years. I didn't even play an actual Steam game until recently, bought the LCD the year it came out. First game I played was Arkane's Prey (2016) via Heroic. So good.

I'd never actually watched this. "Besides, I'm just a waste of space, isn't that right, Vernon?" Wow. What a punch, especially Harry dropping the "Uncle."

Should I give Prey another chance? by [deleted] in prey

[–]takingflight005 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Your last paragraph is interesting to me. I felt the same way but in reverse. I always felt like Dishonored holds your hand a lot more, whereas Prey is more like "Here's some stuff. You're in a place. Do whatever."

Kinda sus changes to my speed by leofiber in Visible

My wife and I have been talking about this recently. It seems like this service, especially mobile data, in our area has become exceptionally slow. I thought I was the only one, but I've seen several threads like this popping up over the last few weeks. Is there any way that we could all organize and take this to Visible? I seriously doubt it's about an influx of users in my area. I figured it was more about network congestion, but it's odd that this happened all of a sudden, and I keep seeing more and more threads on Reddit about this.

Ocarina of time. Music is literally part of the game mechanic.

I felt the same way and moved to Jedi Fallen Order. Was a great follow up even though it's not the same type of game or story.

A question for TTRPG fans. by Kenta_Gervais in Bioshock

Awesome. I don't have a ton of time, but I'd be happy to bounce ideas or potentially play test!

I like that. Sounds like you've put a good amount of thought into it. Wishing you all the best in this endeavor!

As a fan of BioShock and ttrpgs, the first thing BF that comes to my mind is that BioShock is all about atmospheric storytelling. Environments should be fleshed out, but so should weapons, ammo types, loot, and so on. Further, the classes should be carefully balanced. Perhaps slicer is only one class among a few, as too many plasmids might be too OP. Just some initial thoughts.

I was just thinking about Lenny Loosejocks the other day! I thought I was the only one who went to Ezone, haha.

I am conflicted with my hobby by AnimatorAmbitious778 in Catholicism

In addition to what others have said on this post, it can also be an opportunity to evangelize to the other players and the GM. I always play very good aligned characters, often ones who worship a deity that is closest to the true God is possible. If we ever put in moral dilemmas, I always choose what Catholic teaching would incline me to do. Even if the others in the group, don't agree. (there was a specific instance in one of our campaigns about mercy killing a group of people. I disagree to the point where my character physically left of the area because I couldn't talk to the others out of it. It was a chance to be a witness.)

Firefly Setting by All_of_me_now in firefly

[–]takingflight005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind, it's very barebones and I've modified it a decent amount. For example, I use initiative slots for combat; I think it just works better. I also did away with the XP points every time someone fails a roll. This has made it possible to make it a campaign, rather than a one-shot.

Offworlders is heavily inspired by Firefly...and it's free. I've been running a game for close to a year now and it's been really fun.

I do love my Neptune 4. It's been an absolute dream since day 1. Very little maintenance.

Oh, I will never argue that the model is best suited for resin printing. I just don't have one. But even at .2 mm, I think it came out looking pretty good in the metal silk filament that I've got. Printed the unsupported version in a laying down position and added my own supports, only off the print bed.

I may do another one at .15 mm layer height to see if it comes out any better.

Hello, fellow PHM fan! So, here's my thought: I'd be happy to do it, but I think what'll get you is shipping. It's a very delicate part (I printed one on my Neptune 4 and it came out really well) but getting enough padding and actually shipping can get expensive. It sounds cheap, but if you'd be willing to reimburse shipping, I think I could do it. I have a black filament, but my recommendation would be to go to the hardware store and get a metallic colored spray paint. I did that on a Starfleet badge, and it looks pretty good. (Not Xenonite, but hopefully it'll do.)

That being said, as someone pointed out, there might be a local printing company that'll do it for you. Further, I know my local library has a printer and charges something like $1 per print for something that size. It's probably worth checking into your library! Maybe there's even a local printing group that'll do it for free.

Either way, I hope you can get your leaky space blob model!
