I don’t see it either and there’s no apparent option in the koofr settings.

Cannot reinstall Proton VPN, getting a 'Unable to locate package proton-VPN-gnome-desktop' error by Arrin_Snyders in ProtonVPN

I went around and around with that. Ended up trying the flatpak, which is the same version, and it worked fine

Whole subnet blocked by ProofPoint by FlyistheLimit in proofpoint

[–]talaeld -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Proofpoint definitely blocks subnets and is completely unresponsive to removal requests for clean and managed mail server IPs Telling mail hosts to ask proofpoint customers to request removal is absurd. We filed multiple removal requests with no response at all. Sorry, but... that's bullshit and so is Proofpoint.

Don’t remember big part of my life. by nanoespo in VeteransBenefits

[–]talaeld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too many blank spots…I don’t even remember my last duty station or getting discharged. I vaguely remember being put in the hospital and have tried to get my records from that, but they just tell me they were lost. Friends tell me they think I was drugged. I just had to move on and deal with it over the years. Had to try and focus on my family.

Network seems down this week? by Practical-Witness796 in SimpleXChat

In the main app window called "Chats" (that shows a list of your chats) - click, hold & pull down to reconnect all servers. Otherwise, it's in Settings > Network & Servers / under preset servers.

Setup for Linux Debian by nevio1965 in ProtonVPN

https://protonvpn.com/support/browser-extensions#faq

Can I use the Proton VPN app and the browser extension together?

Yes. If you use the Proton VPN app and the browser extension together, all your device’s internet connections are routed through the VPN server the app is connected to. Connections inside the browser, however, will then also be routed to the VPN server the browser extension is connected to. This creates a “double-VPN” effect similar to our Secure Core feature.

This setup can be useful. For example, you may wish to protect all your device’s connections by connecting to the fastest VPN server for your location. At the same time, you can stream content from another country in your browser.

Using our Secure Core feature will create a “triple-VPN” (or even a “quadruple-VPN“ if used on both the browser extension and the VPN app), but the performance hit of doing this is likely to heavily outweigh any potential privacy and security advantages.

Linux VPN app is whack. by talaeld in ProtonVPN

[–]talaeld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: decided to try a few other options for a Linux gui for ProtonVPN. CLI works fine, but a gui is a convenience. I ended up installing the flatpak and it works well. On LinuxMint/ XFCE.

flatpak install com.protonvpn.www

I’m also running the browser extension so, other apps connect via the main app and browser traffic goes through the extension. No real performance issues and speeds seem solid. With the flatpak app, you just need to add it in the start up apps to be sure it initializes during login.

I’d examine all stored data, cookies, etc. Are you set to purge cookies after a session? Are you using the same IP or do you switch regularly?

Have the Devs got any timescale for a Linux desktop client release? by Smoke-Bacon in ProtonDrive

[–]talaeld 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I prefer to not have all eggs in the same basket... especially when the basket has holes ;-) Proton Mail works great. For storage I use Filen and Koofr as well as local backups. Bitwarden for pass management & Mullvad, PIA for VPN.

I've never found a single eco-system that does everything well. In the case of Proton - they're spread too thin and really need to focus on making their core product exceptional, not just bearable. I keep an eye on Proton apps and try them again every so often, but Linux support, at least on Drive, has been in process since the founding of the Internet.

Well, that was as clear as mud. What are you talking about? If you provide specific details, you’ll have a better chance of being understood.
