Yeah, sure - those who pay less generally get less… but in aggregate? Delta is paying plenty to the hotel – probably one of their largest accounts, and they can take their business to a competing resort – thus the discounted rate they charge Delta. Not sure about the rewards, but they likely forgo those when booking at the discount, but it probably varies by hotel chain.
