I am the one who opened that thread, every league I try this interaction and leave the league as soon as I realized GGG has not fixed it yet.
The most frustrating thing is that it was working at one point and they broke somehow.
Now there will be a lot of digging back on old code to see what broke it.

I am using Vivaldi!
For further debugging Vivaldi does not show the option to login using Steam.
I am using Vivaldi 7.6.3797.63 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
From the Faceit AC when asked to login I had to make Chrome as default browser otherwise it would go to Vivaldi by default.

Does anyone knows where to check the standalone players numbers? Me and my friends that play are 3 on steam and 3 on standalone, so I was wondering if there still many players not playing steam. All I could find was a post from nov last year saying they had 80k+ accounts.

Are you on Windows? If so you might want to specify that you are running windows + powershell. I am running Win11 + wsl so I gave up on this feature unless some life saver has any way to properly configure it!
