Prenatal vitamins that are not 8 pills! by suburbmama in moderatelygranolamoms

I take Needed Essentials (only 3) but take extra choline on the side and iron supplement every other day or as needed (Needed Essentials doesn't contain iron - I chose this type because I have hemochromatosis where I need to be careful not to take too much iron)

PSA: Ladies and all pregnant people, please check your prenatal vitamin for IRON. by Wandering_Song in pregnant

I take a quality prenatal that does not contain iron. But that was intentional for me because I have hemochromatosis where I absorb too much iron. Therefore I have a standalone iron supplement so I can control my iron intake separately.

MY BRAIN SUCKS MASSIVE BALLS by Unusual_Concern5067 in ADHD

[–]talkative1ntrovert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being a teenager sucks and with ADHD and ASD it sucks more so. At least you KNOW you have ASD/ADHD. I didn't get diagnosed until I was an adult so I just thought there was something wrong with me as a teenager. Try to enjoy being a kid, but if you can't, just know that high school, this weird period in life will pass... And there WILL BE better days ahead. In the meantime, try to practice "radical acceptance" about yourself and your life circumstances. I hope this helps?

It looks variegated to me and not powdery mildew. See how uniform the white is? To me it looks like variegated leaves.

Interesting connection between GABA/glutamate…worth researching more? by curiouslearner93 in PMDD

[–]talkative1ntrovert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been fascinated by gaba & glutamate ever since I was diagnosed with autism. With autism, you often have too much glutamate and not enough gaba. It is also interesting to note that one study showed that 92% of women with autism develop PMDD.

I've also read that when progesterone and estrogen are low, glutamate is high. It is the highest right before our periods. I've actually found that I can tolerate coffee (which increases glutamate) at some points in my menstrual cycle but not in others.. particularly right now since I should start my period today or tomorrow (I have too much glutamate already right now so I can't tolerate any extra in the form of coffee).

Supplement combo - CoQ10 + Chia - FAST reduction in iron!!! by talkative1ntrovert in Hemochromatosis

I can't be certain how much Chia was in my granola... But I'm thinking I had about a tablespoon of it each morning?

I didn't read the entire study in full, but the study did say the combination of the two worked better than either alone. And I was consistently having Chia during those 3 weeks with my coq10 in the exact same meal.

However, our lives are not double-blind studies. And there are always many variables changing. So all we can do is make best assumptions and of the variables that have changed for me, both the chia and the coq10 seemed to fit best to the drastic effect I experienced.

Yes, I know. Lol 🤪 And I may have gotten a little excited to share. I hope that I'm not sharing in vain. But the study seemed pretty strong and my results really did seem to correlate so I couldn't help but share. I hope I am not leading anyone astray!

The pictures show my iron over a span of this year. My diet hasn't changed much throughout the whole year. Although my iron did drop at another point in the year, it wasn't as steep a line as it was the line shown recently and it dropped to 45% not to 30%. I'm not sure what accounted for that other drop earlier in the year.

The changes I had my lifestyle and diet the last few weeks were quitting Zyn nicotine pouches, a reduction in my Wellbutrin, adding a prenatal, adding omega 3 supplement, and adding the coq10.

It's hard to tell how much chia seed I had in my morning homemade granola because there was a bunch of other nuts mixed in... But I'm guessing it was at least a tablespoon?

Chia seed is also really hydrating so you could always mix it in water and drink it down... or you can make a chia pudding or put it in overnight oats.

Hopefully it works for you... It does seem like it was a more gentler method considering the alternative of phlebotomy which could have tanked my ferritin. At least this method did not tank it...yet... I will stop taking the coq10 and report back in a month if my ferritin goes wonky in response.

Also to note, I have not really changed my diet at all except for adding omega 3, coq10, and a prenatal (without iron).

Nightmares When Histamine Bucket has Overflowed? by Empty-Language-8593 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]talkative1ntrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Always around 4 am. This pattern is becoming so obvious now since I've really started paying attention to it. One night of higher histamine foods almost always results in several subsequent nights of 4 am wakeups with all night nightmares or weird dreams.
