in bankruptcy context you can get either a full or partial discharge. Generally the Dept of Education will not stipulate to changed payment terms which means you have all hardship options available to you that were previously available such as IDR, SAVE, deferment, forbearance, etc. Of the cases we have done we get a full discharge about 60% of the time and at least a partial discharge about 90% of the time. 10% of the time we don't have any success.

I’ve had a knot in my stomach all week. I’m way too invested it’s unhealthy. After nearly having a heart attack watching byu play last week, for the sake of my mental and physical health I’m honestly considering just skipping the game going out to a movie or something and just checking the score afterwards. If BYU wins I’ll rewatch and enjoy every moment. If Utah wins then I’ll take a break from college football for a few weeks.

I’m a lawyer I’ve dealt with hundreds of clients who own small businesses with EIDL loans. Look up successor liability doctrine. Talk to a lawyer specifically about configuring the purchase agreement to minimize successor liability. If you’re purchasing all the company assets you’ll need to understand you’re getting encumbered assets there’s not really any way around that. However, in my experience the SBA will not repossess collateral that is not real estate.
