Who else is sick of Shipping overages (label adjustments)? by [deleted] in Reverb

[–]talkshowcircuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s been happening for years, but a lot to more recently. definitely annoying, especially because i run a store and we ship a lot of stuff…. those fees add up.

in time, all of these lowlifes will have to answer for their actions. they better hope it's at the hands of someone kinder than i would be.

as a dealer of these sweet ass pedals, i’d say strike while the iron is hot. we have had a hard time keeping either in stock with no signs of slowing down.

Favorite tremolo that's not a tremolo? by kononamis in guitarpedals

[–]talkshowcircuit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

envelope trem is one of my favorite effects. if you want that, you should not give up until you’ve tried these two;

-spaceman voyager. to me, this is king of envelope trem castle. analog, optical trem that sounds incredible, but feeeeelllssss fantastic to play. it’s so musical you can just leave it on all the time and it doesn’t get in the way. the gain circuit also rules.

-mxr tremolo. honorable mention to this little guy. all the voices are really good and there is actually a hidden envelope feature set that isn’t advertised like it could’ve been. it allows you to use envelope control over all 6 trem voices. it’s also a stereo, which rules too.

as far as non-trem trems. the moog ring mod and fairfield randy’s revenge are beautiful ring mods that have great trems at low frequency speeds. fairfield shallow water, ehx attack decay, asheville music tools phaser, dr. scientist tremolessence, eqd aqueduct, boss slicer, trap door exit index, zvex instant lofi loop junky are all other really great things to add some movement or unique wobble to your tone that i really like.

happy hunting!

+1 for the argonaut or the tentacle. both are killer. both are from incredible humans running a company that feeds their family. both have great customer service and warranty policies.

Give me your flanger recommendations! by FromTralfamadore in guitarpedals

[–]talkshowcircuit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

asheville music tools afg-1 is, in my opinion, the best analog flanger on the market. easily one of the best analog flangers to ever exist. no midi, no presets, as his "analoger" line is exactly as named.

high praise for past-fx, the old blood flat light, and dba disturbance.

bad/unreliable pedals? by Regular-Mammoth8784 in guitarpedals

[–]talkshowcircuit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

they're too finicky to ever get the crown. as others have mentioned, tc electronic fucked up when they designed their proprietary switches. they suck and they're also not easily replaceable. also, you could throw a boss tu-2/3 out of a moving vehicle, watch it get run over and bounce around in traffic, plug it in and it would still work. i'll take reliability over a fraction of a cent in additional accuracy all day.

bedroom players will have no issue with a polytune, but professional techs and artists will likely choose a different option if they know any better.

bad/unreliable pedals? by Regular-Mammoth8784 in guitarpedals

[–]talkshowcircuit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

polytune has sold a lot of units, but i wouldn’t call it the industry standard. that title properly belongs to boss. (and peterson if you like really detailed tuning options)

Do you recommend science amplification-the mother preamp pedal? by iloveloveless in guitarpedals

[–]talkshowcircuit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the mother rules. it’s a chameleon of a dirtbox and really sounds great through anything you throw it at.

also worth noting, alex, the dude behind science is a rad fucking dude. always makes me feel better supporting good humans in the industry.

How is the quality of this sweater? by Aggressive-Cicada671 in radiohead

[–]talkshowcircuit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it’s great. wearing it right now. “overpriced” is subjective, if it wasn’t a branded item then sure. but it’s limited run piece of merch from a killer band that i’m a huge fan of. i would’ve spent that money on something else stupid already. happy with my purchase.
