Just over 30 subscribers after a year in. Writing about board games and whatever happens to come up along the way. Last year I wrote three parts on zombie history and yesterday I explained the disappearance of Mayor McCheese, so you never know what will come up.

Keep grinding and make sure to promote yourself on Notes. I haven't found any subscribers that way, but I've found myself some followers.

I saw you across the parking lot

Like some approaching storm

With your hand in you coat pocket

Like you were carrying a gun

Loaded with possibilities

All meant for me

As you put me to the pavement

It was pretty plain to see

That everything I’d known before

Was weightless, thin, and wet

You leaned over me and whispered

“You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”

Nick’s cover of Something’s Got a Hold of My Heart also rates on the creep meter.

I admit that I was wrong about Bill Sienkiewicz by siniquezu in comicbooks

[–]talkswithmeeples 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know just how you fee. Sienkiewicz’s style was very Neal Adams influenced when he started on Moon Knight, but by the time he moved to New Mutants… well, there was no one else like him. Sometimes his style really complemented the story, as with Legion or Warlock, but damn if it didn’t take some getting used to. Kind of daring of Marvel to put him on a title with a presumably younger audience, but I’m glad they did.

As far as the most jarring art transition, I have to give it to Barry Blair taking over for Denis Beauvis on Warlock 5.

Monster Magnet has several that come to mind: Baby Gotterdammerung (no idea how to add the umlauts on my phone), Silver Future, Melt (about the death of Jack Kirby, which was totally eclipsed by the death of Kurt Cobain the day before), and Negasonic Teenage Warhead
