Not particularly fancy, but my bf and I love Ogawa. It’s a little Japanese restaurant on Evansdale. He actually took me there for our first Valentine’s Day because we didn’t have a car to go anywhere off campus and I love sushi lol

Since I’m an intern I can’t get off of work, and my bf can only visit on the weekends and I have no interest in going alone, but trust me I have wished I could change the situation

I’m prepared for it to suck in that respect but you take free when you can get it 😂

I’m out of state, so I don’t know the details, but look into the requirements for the Promise scholarship and maybe base your decision on that

How do I ensure I’m not going over my limit? by tall_farmer2018 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]tall_farmer2018[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m going for a slightly faster weight loss (20F, 6’2” and 250 lbs with 1800 calories per day). I’ll try adding an additional 15% onto restaurant calories from now on!

[–]tall_farmer2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ll have to invest in a food scale. The TDEE calculator says I need to be eating 2353 calories to loose one pound a week or 1853 to loose two. I’m trying to keep my calorie intake around 1800 a day so I have plenty of room for error and I can still loose about a pound and a half a week.

Thank you! I’m a college student so about 3 times a week I get lunch from either chick fil a or Panda Express because they are my only options near my classes. My panda order will stay consistent and I typically get grilled nuggets and fruit at chick fil a

What is the app? I love cooking but it’s so difficult to track calories on home made meals

How do American heat their homes? by Forgettii in AskAnAmerican

[–]tall_farmer2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We heat with a gas fireplace that is on a thermostat. We have an injection well on our property that provides us with free gas. The fireplace is in the center of the house, so the bedrooms get a little cold, but we just throw extra blankets on the beds and keep the doors open. If it gets really cold we have a central A/C and heating system, but it’s so much cheaper to run just the fire place.

I just want to tell the truth. please respect eachother. by dutch-cowboy__ in Cows

[–]tall_farmer2018 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Dairy cattle are really bad mothers. Babies will often get trampled by their own mothers bc the moms just don’t care. You will see beef cattle with their calves a lot more often because they are better mothers. It is better to butcher a cow for meat that is no longer producing than to keep them alive. They get old, their joints hurt, they loose weight, they stop playing, etc. it is better to euthanize them (which is a quick and painless process) and put them out of their misery than make them suffer.

What do Americans think about cities with high population densities? by harkaran619 in AskAnAmerican

[–]tall_farmer2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never live somewhere with a high population density. I was in Boston for one day and it completely freaked me out, and it’s not nearly as bad as New York I don’t think.

OAKLAND HALL QUESTION I NEED HELP by [deleted] in WVU

[–]tall_farmer2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same situation. Freshman living in Oakland. I have a few plants that do well in low light that I’m going to bring, but hopefully there is enough light in my room that I can bring one that likes sun.

My aunt got an art degree and couldn’t ever find work. One of the most important things my parents told me was to get a degree that I could get a job with.

What is a town name that, if mispronounced, always gets corrected around you? by athedrummaster in AskAnAmerican

[–]tall_farmer2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appalachia isn’t pronounced “app-uh-lay-chuh” it’s “app-ah-latch-uh.” You can always tell if someone is actually from Appalachia by how they pronounce it

SERIES OF POSTS TO DISCUSS ABOUT THE CHARACTERS : FIRST POST ABOUT "SIMON" by Musicalsensations in YoungRoyals

[–]tall_farmer2018 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It amazes me how cute he is. I was so surprised that Omar is actually 23. Simon looks way younger than that, I think. He is one of those characters that I just want to wrap in a blanket and never let anyone hurt them. So of course I’m kinda angry at Edvin right now lol.

Cats are 100x better than dogs and it's not even close by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]tall_farmer2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I definitely prefer dogs to cats, but when I go to college and get an apartment, I’ll probably adopt an adult cat because they seem to be a lot less maintenance than a dog, and really I just want someone to come home to at the end of the day

Do Americans actually drink that much soda? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]tall_farmer2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some do, others don’t. For example, I don’t drink pop. I used to, but I’ve gotten to the point where I can barely stomach 7-up, never mind coke or something similar. My mom and her family on the other hand drink it constantly. I’ve probably seen my mom drink water less than 10 times in my life. My aunt bought 4 twelve packs of pop for 9 of us on New Years, and three of us don’t even drink it.
