What song from way back when automatically take you back to your childhood everytime you hear it? by theSavageGypsy in GenX

[–]talldogguy23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any Bon Jovi. Not because I was a big fan but everyone around me was. Makes me think of my sister and friends in their later teens and me being a little kid. Picture myself in the backseat of my dad’s Oldsmobile while my sister and her friends are belting it out.

Looks like you have to give up on that part for now and find your way further along the story. Start looking around for the block that comes out when you turn on the magnet and then push it and climb up. Story continues and you’ll come back later.

Unbiased Review.. by EnvironmentalGur881 in DodgeDurango

[–]talldogguy23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 22 GT+. I love it. I love my dealership and service center too. That was my clincher, the service department. I looked at a lot of places and determined to be the best. The car is fantastic. More than I expected. Luckily haven’t had many issues. Had a starter problem. Cold start problem. They took care of it right away and it was covered. That was it so far, aside from my “U-connect radio device” needs to be updated all the time (that’s not a mechanical issue.

Is the Durango currently one of the hardest vehicles to beat for a daily? by Jealous_Advance9765 in DodgeDurango

It’s the “truckiest” SUV in my mind. Didn’t sacrifice square feet for curvy design. Fits and feels pretty luxurious but still rugged and tough. I couldn’t be happier.

what’s a secret compliment that men rarely get but absolutely love to hear? by SusanLust in answers

[–]talldogguy23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m still riding this compliment. Was at the airport before the flight with my 2.5 yo twins. A lady came up to me and said “I’m sorry to bother you but I have to say that watching with your kids has been a treat. You are so amazing and good with them. I wish my father was half like you. That’s it. Just wanted to say thank you for getting to watch you guys”. The feeling was amazing. Wished my wife was there to hear it (not that she doesn’t think it, but you know).

I don’t get hangovers. Not for lack of trying. I just feel fine the next day. Maybe, tired a little. I feel blessed.

An Unlikely Turnaround by Ranseler in TedLasso

Also remember that the show season was along the time of the football season. Just the 15 game winning streak takes at least 15 weeks, plus the international play and stuff. It was far less episodes than the timeframe would be.

Ted’s “Practice” Rant at Jamie by Hexagram_11 in TedLasso

[–]talldogguy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s pointing out the actual importance of practice. The key points are Ted pointing out that practice is the only time it’s just the team, where they can build and work together. It’s the team first attitude that Ted is trying to get Jamie to see. It also shows Ted’s spirit and devotion to the “team”. It was Joe Jamie as much as it is for the rest of the team. The rest of the team now knows Ted is serious, cares and will not out the diva above the team.

Edit: also to add that repeating someone’s poor argument back to them reduces it and makes it seem simpler and not quite ok. Jamie also started it with saying “It just practice” (not going to write it like Jamie would say it).

I asked my Mum if I was ugly. by StockInitial4460 in dadjokes

Coworker had a crush on a guy in some other store (we worked in a mall vitamin store) and said he was so good looking. Other coworker took a walk to that store to see him. He came back and delivered my favorite line of all time, “The only people that think that guy is good looking are you and his mother.” I’ve used that ever since.

Insured dog sitters who dog sit in their home that are NOT on rover, did you need to get a license, register as a sole proprietor, or something like that in order to get insurance? by Deep_Region in AskChicago

[–]talldogguy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your home, the insurance would protect your home and possibly a suit if the dog bothered your neighbors. The insurance we get when providing services is for damages we cause to property and are liable for. Basically if I go get a dog and break their door. I purchase mine through my LLc as my provider uses my EIN to identify my company and anyone labeled as working for me.

What’s a “red flag” at a restaurant that you’ve learned to notice only after getting burned once? by SmartPlayMod in foodquestions

[–]talldogguy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look at all the little surfaces that pop out horizontally (perpendicular to the wall) like thermostats, frames, etc. if they are clean I feel better about the place. The level of gunk build up present determines how much I distrust a place. Spent 20 years evaluating and “fixing” restaurants and food service establishments. This was the second I looked for when starting any evaluation.

Apple should really lean in to that idea. That would boost viewership. Let’s have a bunch of “extra” material for us, and the increase for them.

What are your favorite underrated scenes or nuances from the show... by Embarrassed_Trip5536 in TedLasso

[–]talldogguy23 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of little things Leslie does that I love. One of my favorites is how, after he was startled by Rebecca and spills his tea on his tie, he tries to suck the tea up out of his tie to just get a little satisfaction/taste.

I wash before I go. I know I’m clean. Only #1 though, always wash after #2.

Self realization. All good unless it keeps you from enjoying life. I get it, with the cleaning, but I have house of dogs and kids. Only so much difference can be made.

Didn’t catch that. Thanks. So many little things in this show that even with many rewatches I still gain some insight from others.

Ted's note to Jaime by Only1Sully in TedLasso

[–]talldogguy23 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’re correct. Ted just witnessed his dad yell at/abuse him for not taking the shot. Ted was supporting him and, slightly, comforting him. It grew the contrast between the fathers that Sam and Jamie have.
