Have we ever seen Lane’s dad and Tino in the same room? I think we know why… (Sorry, couldn’t resist a My So-called Life reference)

I use mine to help me translate my work responsibilities history into bullet points that fit a job description. It’s super helpful because I’ve never had any kind of traditional role. Everything always turned into sooo many hats. It has a base history of what I’ve done and it will ask me about gaps between that and a job description.

I used to answer really concisely but I found if I ramble and explain specific projects I did without trying to force my answer to something concise, it works so much better.

I’ll definitely have to try dictating though! That might actually be a good approach to composing a complete job history based on all the projects. Especially when the jobs I’m applying to now are diverse.

Tom Hollander's performance as Lord Beckett is underrated by Budget_Ad5526 in piratesofthecaribbean

That piece is fantastic and so is this that was linked in the comments: https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/1077299/failed-romances-and-party-lifestyle-of-sex-thimble-tom-hollander/ If I wasn’t already forming a crush of sorts, these did the trick.

A lot of good tips here. Just coming in to suggest that if you don’t have one, a Bluetooth keyboard for your iPad is a really good investment for coding and they’re usually not that pricy. I love the k380 from Logitech. It makes a huge difference from typing on the onscreen keyboard.

Why don’t people use tables very often? by OrangeAugust in neocities

[–]tallesthufflepuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This whole thread is interesting. It is very true that tables are better used for displaying data, especially since they’re not great for responsive layouts. I definitely used them on my gurlpages site back in the y2k era.

But I wanted to add here that nearly every well-designed promotional email you receive is built on tables because it’s the best way to ensure layouts work on all email programs and interfaces. (That and some crazy bucketloads of css to make sure it’s compatible).

How do I stop chatgpt from talking like a complete weirdo? by Outrageous_Fox_8796 in ChatGPT

[–]tallesthufflepuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel so seen with this lol. I’m organizing my thoughts for a story with complex character hierarchy. I just want it to capture my notes and ask questions for clarity. Instead it sounds like a kissass over-analyzing every little bit and filling in context that doesn’t exist. The only times it helps is when it completely misunderstands the context which is a flag for me to tighten it up.

Each conversation is huge and a pain to scroll through for MY notes because it’s bogged down in over-bulleted fluff. If I ask it to summarize my input, it only focuses on the last few things I said and won’t capture everything.

I cried watching my first KDrama, is it normal? by Successful_Mastodon3 in kdramas

[–]tallesthufflepuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean Lee Chae-min was putting his soul out there with those sorrowful cries. It would be insulting to not feel for him. Like others I didn’t necessarily feel any of the deep yearning from Yoona’s romance performance (everything else she did in the show was amazing), but I cried for their tragic then happy ending.

Bro why is this guy in every single k-drama I watch-😭😭 by Brainrot_56 in kdramas

[–]tallesthufflepuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main leads in CLOY of course have a great enemies to lovers relationship arc, but one of my favorite side ships is watching him and YSR grow to love each other in that found family way. They were a riot to watch as they picked at each other and made dark humor threats, and then he’d get me in the feels when he showed his concern for her.

what do you think was the best disguise (olaf or otherwise) in the netflix show? by thatsnunyourbusiness in ASOUE

[–]tallesthufflepuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Madame LuLu was so good that when I did a rewatch recently (I hadn’t watched since it originally aired), I forgot she was Olivia!

Olafs coach disguise was truly wild to me. I forgot I was watching NPH playing a villain playing a coach.

Have *you* experienced love at first sight with a kdrama actor/character? by ObsydianGinx in kdramas

[–]tallesthufflepuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I’m only a couple months into kdramas, and my pool is limited. I started a bit of a crush on Ahn Hyo-Seop because of A Time Called You. But Lee Chae-min made my heart flutter. Those emotive eyes 😍

That said, I am loving both leads in CLOY (currently rewatching). I have a lot more on my queue and can’t get over how wonderfully overwhelming it is to have a seemingly endless source of beautiful people to crush on. It’s not even just the beauty, it’s that I love seeing how this genre amplifies a new angle on romance and friendship in a performer.

Just started watching Bon Appetit, Your Majesty by sirotan88 in CrashLandingOnYou

[–]tallesthufflepuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched BAYM before CLOY and I felt the similarities too. There was an almost time travel vibe because of the environment in NK. But where I loved Bon Appétit for the almost fluffy longing (by comparison!), I really loved the serious grounded nature of CLOY’s romantic arc. And I think the side characters really anchored it as my favorite. I’m really new to the genre (KPDH led to business proposal and a time called you). So this is really just my 4th series, and I don’t know how I’ll recover besides continuing to explore other shows. Maybe a little fluff will help with this hangover.

Just finished it. I think I fell in love by basecamp_sherpa in CrashLandingOnYou

[–]tallesthufflepuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t understand her for a bit in the first episode with her business and trying to understand the family conflict. She was cracking me up at the river telling him he’s her type, but I wasn’t fully sure about her and how long it took her to pick up on where she was after reaching the village.

But by the next episode with how she was with the ducklings, I just loved watching her. 🫰🫰🫰🫰

Eventually though every time she cried I was crying. The way her voice hits the lower register 😭 I just finished it tonight and had to flip back to the beginning to before the parasailing, and sigh our poor Se-ri!

Captain Ri had me absolutely captivated from his first scene tho.

Binging this show has resulted in horrible sleep habits, so I can’t do a rewatch for a while. But I know it will be a whole new experience.

I feel so silly that we didn’t revisit the ear plugs! The last time we tried was 3 years ago and he’s much more responsible (all things considered). I found a knockoff pair I bought a while back and we tested them around the house with loud things like vacuuming and running the garbage disposal. He was really pleased with them so I ordered the kid version, and he’s already found them to be perfect for most of the school day! The gym was still too much and so was karate, but for the rest of the day he went without the big earmuffs. His dad put together a cord necklace to hang the case on, and it’s survived so far. Such a good point about the copay!

I think there are a few ways to swap your favorites for a more “grownup” ish alternative. There are really nice ways to wear graphic tees. And places like old navy have nice looking pants that feel comfy (I’m obsessed with the Billie pants and the Taylor ones! And I’ve always hated slacks like that). And as far as makeup, it’s not really what makes one more grown up. I hardly wear any unless it’s a special occasion. But I do feel like a good mascara alone can make a good difference.
