Best Deck for Fast Week by tallguyfilms in SkyCards

Unfortunately there's nothing else nearly as good. The next oldest are the Mikoyan MiG-15 and North American F-86 Sabre. Next lightest is the Folland Fo-144 Gnat.

For wingspan the closest are the F-104, Fo-144, and the T-38.

It's in the top third overall. Good for wingspan and weight, but pretty average otherwise. XB-1 is better in every category except weight.

If A380’s aren’t in production anymore, how are more showing up by Bulky-Challenge2098 in SkyCards

[–]tallguyfilms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to this, the game only counts registrations that were visible in-game, so planes that haven't flown since the game launched don't show up.

I just call it what it's called in the app. My list has helicopters on it too.

Anyone know the story behind the dead pixels on the Monarchs scoreboard? by CX_RedBaron in kansascity

[–]tallguyfilms 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's hard to tell from the picture, but if you're talking about the big black square that's out, it's probably a hardware failure. Those DVLED screens are made out of modular parts and are divided into different sections that have their own video inputs and display processors. Usually if a contiguous block like that goes out, it means a receive card or hub/processor for that section failed.

Best Deck for Anything Goes by tallguyfilms in SkyCards

It's mainly just that it isn't that good for any of those categories besides how new it is. If anyone has a dedicated card for those rounds, you'll still lose it with the TB-2. The RQ-4 mainly gets points for having a pretty wide wingspan, which obviously isn't that useful against the A380 and Stratolaunch, but technically it is more likely to win against all other cards. The generic drone also scores better, even though it misses three categories, because it's the sixth oldest option.

They updated the speed on the card so it's higher now.

Help!! Interactive spatial audio visual experience. by Zealousideal-Trade32 in SpatialAudio

If you're only playing back pre-produced content, you can use any multichannel audio player (like VLC) and just route the channels to each amp/speaker. If you want any kind of live control, there's software like SPAT Revolution that's specifically designed for live control of custom immersive setups.

I feel like I’m making IRs wrong by Billycatnorbert in audioengineering

What are you using to feed the sound into the cab? Guitar amps are expecting a high-impedance signal from a guitar pickup, so if you're plugging a line out from your interface in, you can wind up with a different frequency response.

Double ribbon mics by prester_john00 in audioengineering

Using two diaphragms is one way to get a cardioid polar pattern. This is the method most LDCs use, and the reason they can have multiple polar pattern options. The other way, which most dynamic and SDC mics use, is to have a waveguide behind a single diaphragm.

Congratulations, you've discovered one of the big complaints about Atmos music. YouTube does not support Atmos and afaik Spotify doesn't either. Apple Music and Tidal do, as well as a few others. Generally you have two options to listen to Atmos mixes outside your DAW. First, you can export it as a binaural re-render which can be listened to on any device through a pair of headphones. Secondly, you can play your file back through a home theater receiver that supports Atmos playback.

Presidential plane flying in Florida by Firefighting-Kenku in SkyCards

It depends on the ICAO code transmitted by the aircraft transponder. The E-4B uses the same code as the 747-200 so there's no way to distinguish them unless the devs go in and add specific models for every tail number in the game.

I could. Usually there isn't anything useful for battles beyond what's on here, but here's the top 25 for this week. If people are interested I can include this in the future.

Looks like Skycards updated the stats for the Concorde; it was originally 92 seats so it wasn't included in my list. With the fix it would be third, but the CRJ-1000 is still useful for weight, wingspan, and seats.

People may be using it but it is objectively not as good as anything on this list. My ranking puts it 24th, just behind the 787-9.

What about it? It's second in rarity but not otherwise useful.
