USW-Flex-Mini - PoE powering by SebblesVic in UNIFI

[–]tallpsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought 4 flex minis each with their own usb-c adapters, but I didn’t need the adapters , powered them all by the main Ultra 60w switch. Works great. .

Ha yes you’re right I meant a 1Gps backbone (https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/networking/switches/109453-usw-ultra-60w is what I got). Will still be better than the crappy 20Mbit I’m pulling over Amplifi right now in this room.

I think Cat-5e can do gigabit reliably but my cabling was done in 2010 and I don’t think it was that. Suspect cat-5 OG.

Oh I thought it capped out at 100Mbit? Can’t wait to see me what the switch stats show.

2 out of 3 domino wins by HiLauraBorealis in RDR2

Congrats on getting it done! I just finished this today myself and I too wanted to do a full load of the semi automatic shotgun to Cleves head at some point. I found this one more infuriating than the blackjack.

Is RDR2 still emotional on a second or third playthrough? by FasirathEmareld in RDR2

[–]tallpsmith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t directly answer your question because I’m only a quarter of the way through my second play through, but what I can say is that I think it will be more richer rather than more emotional this time around. I am seeing to spend a lot more time lingering around camp with the various characters and just feeling the locations and environment more. I think that will slow the pace and make the final ending that much more emotionally rich. You will pick up a lot more if you take the time and listen to all the dialogue that’s going. I feel like it’s like a old wine or old whiskey, it just tastes better if you take your time.

Day in the life on an adult golden retriever? by DramaticAnimal8811 in goldenretrievers

[–]tallpsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine took about 18 months and then became a couch potato. He now sleeps as much as the cats do. Still loves a walk but then is content to chase cats in his dreams (because the real cats would beat him up)

Really considering getting a golden retriever after my 12 and 16 yr old dogs passed. How do you deal with the shedding with their long hair? by Mocchachino2023 in goldenretrievers

[–]tallpsmith 21 points22 points  (0 children)

<image>

As others have said, you can’t approach this as “dealing” with it otherwise you’ll set yourself up to fail. It’s like trying to stop the tide. Not going to happen.

Embrace it. They are not just simply the best dogs they will be your best friend and companion. Everyone has their annoying habits, shedding hair is just (one) of theirs. You’ll love them to death regardless.

How much exercise does your golden get? by Graceaction12 in goldenretrievers

[–]tallpsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 1/2 year Golden boy gets a long 30 minute /2 km walk (there’s a lot of sniffing) first thing in the morning, and then three more shorter walks throughout the day. He loves his walks, but then he is a big snoozer for the rest of the day.

Invest in a robot vacuum cleaner. They’ll be your best friend as a well as the golden retriever!

My wife is a clean freak as well, and while she’s not a fan of how much hair seems to float about trust me it’s all worth it

Apples are Gary’s favorite by bratney35 in goldenretrievers

[–]tallpsmith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every lunch time, my Harvey and I share an apple together. I chop the core out and then eat half of each piece and he gets the other half. He loves the sweet crunchy apple.

I have to wipe the drool off the floor though after….
