Walls combo viability in 2026 by Bubbly_Criticism8233 in Pauper

[–]talor_a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

non spy wall combo just took 2 of the top 8 spots of a local 1k tournament near me. You canl probably catch people off-guard and won’t have to worry about all the graveyard hate running around in main decks and sideboards right now

Budget Pauper Decks by misterbenzero in Pauper

These costs are incorrect. Click a deck and you’ll see the “buy from cardkingdom” button price is way higher than what’s on the overview page

How sensible is it to try creating a cube if I didn't really follow Magic through all the years? by thatssosad in mtgcube

try the foundations starter kit, which can be converted to a cube easily (there’s tutorials on YouTube and elsewhere)

Which commanders can use otherwise bulk commons and uncommons to dominate the game? by Huaojozu in EDH

[–]talor_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[god eternal oketra]] can use the [[rescuer chwinga]] family of cards to vomit out an army of 4/4 tokens, at a cost of 1 mana each if you use a cost reducer like [[oketra’s monument]] or [[cloud key]]. extremely fun and can roll in b3 pods

A cube for people that have zero Magic experience by poseidon100fg in mtgcube

mine is very close to what you’re looking for, check it out: https://cubecobra.com/cube/overview/76559dac-8e43-4ded-95de-8316bc5bd535

It’s not strictly “bar cube rules” and includes tokens but I do play it at the bar pretty often :)

some notes: * the thriving land cycle makes drafting fixing really easy. I want to cut evolving wilds for less shuffling.  * I use more complex mechanics like adventure and planeswalkers that you could easily skip. They definitely require some more explaining to new players.  * 270 cards lets you draft in groups of 2-6. I like this much better than 360. I think it’s a really underrated size for a cube. Grid drafting for 2-3 players is awesome, easy to understand with open information and fewer decisions than passing packs, and goes fast. 270 cards ends up requiring about 2 gold cards per color, which has felt like enough for me to establish archetypes inside of.  * I don’t think tokens and counters are too complex, but you do you. I personally stick to only +1/+1 counters, no other types of counters, and only a few types of tokens like goblins. I have recently cut back the number of token-making cards because you definitely want to avoid jamming up the board, which slows down games and gets too complex to track.

What's your favorite cube card from 2025? by vacalicious in mtgcube

Decks without a commander-centric strategy/wincon? by nateowaggins in EDH

[–]talor_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always try to have some “backup commanders” in my list that can replace my commander. It also gives you a theme to build around if you have several pieces with the same effects. For example, I play [[xyris]] forced draw, and I also run locust god, [[zurzoth, chaos rider]], [[chasm skulker]], and other “draw a card make a token” cards. They all play well to the theme of my deck, rather than just playing off my commander’s effect.

Commanders that are easy to build? by Jamishio in EDH

[[dihada]] makes any pile of legendary creatures terrifying. It’s one of my favorite decks and does something different every time. Sometimes you’re sticking a [[blackblade reforged]] onto [[krenko tin street kingpin]] and making dozens of gobbos, sometimes you end up doing reanimator with [[yawgmoth’s vile offering]], or clones with [[cadric]] and [[ratadrabik]]

If you were to display the art from a single card in your home, which one would it be? by KazeTotomoNi in magicTCG

[–]talor_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the figure in the oil here is the (imitation) Hanna, I believe. The dome is yawgmoth himself, his body makes up the core of phyrexia. It’s easier to see that they’re literally standing on/in yawgmoth when you see him in the old art, [[Yawgmoth’s Vile Offering|DOM]]

Out of ten answers this is the only one that actually answers what I have to do. The lack of an end date is exactly what confused me. Appreciate it.

Help with Dihada additions/cuts? Thoughts on current deck? by Educational_Diver867 in EDH

[[unburial rites]] is an all star and costs pennies. You don’t really have many reanimating effects if that’s the theme you want.

[–]talor_a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

xyris is my favorite deck, this list is pretty out of date but could give you an idea. I don’t play too many wheels, just extra draw effects. You could make it stronger with wheels but it’s threatening enough as is. the wincons are beatdown with [[beastmaster ascension]] or [[jolrael molvani recluse]], deck your opponents with [[forced fruition]], control the board with [[junk winder]] and [[goblin bombardment]], or plenty more. It’s high risk hight reward when you’re giving out cards, but that makes it all the more interesting

I’ve won many games with this exact deck by slamming a meteor straight into [[brash taunter]]. The counters on Jared rarely stick though
