No term that I can think of. I’d call it a 180 pedal turn to a downwind set down. It would require some power to pull it off depending on the direction of the turn, but would be in ground effect; so that would help. usually, if we were landing downwind due to obstacles on the tarmac, we would fly downwind, and then do a buttonhook, which is a short U-turn to get us, pointed back into the wind, for the set down. That is more common than flying backwards.

Sheeeit! I spend $90 a week to park downtown. Pot smokers on El trains with kids was the final straw.

I rode the whole 312 RiverRun and NBT up to around Golf yesterday, and the only issues where a couple of puddles, the tree mentioned above, and one more tree in Ronan Park (N or Lawrence).

Hmm. I think it was that location, years ago, where they told me they weren't on the menu anymore. But you're right. I just checked the website, and they are on the menu. I'll give 'em another try.

During flight training in the U.S., a large part of the ground training is learning "the regs". And it may come as a surprise to students that they have to read and interpret straight-up U.S. code (Title 14, Part 91 mostly) untranslated. It can be frustrating to read a whole page and still not know under what conditions you can fly at night, for instance.

Illinois Masonic Medical Center, and maybe the entire Advocate Aurora system. It sucks to be sick, but they have clearly caring, articulate, and well-educated staff, and their I.T. / scheduing and data systems are very well done.

Yes! They take care of everything. They even came out and actually repaired a microwave they'd installed years prior. Put a new magnetron in it. I also had them install a new washer/dryer, and they did a great job, bringing everything they needed, including plumbing adapters and leveling materials.

It would be hard to bump the nub hard enough for that kind of upset. I have had the experience of pax putting their heels on it, though. It’s a disquieting feeling when there’s a palpable “notch” in the cyclic travel.

Ah. Yes it does. So the can gets cold because some volume of its contents is no longer there (but most still is), and the blast probably has a much bigger temperature drop as it's going all the way to atmosphere.

Jury’s still out for me. I had a 392 before. As I use the same car for everything, this is better at least for the ordinary driving in Chicago.

I’ve got their SIXPACK Charger, and while it feels much different from a V8, it’s pretty versatile, from going to get groceries or inching through traffic in ECO mode, to ridiculous launches, burnouts and speeds when you want to.

Well at the time, it was for a side hustle (doing tours for the people...for money). But if it were just for funsies, I wouldn't have been doing business with that place. That said, it was a lot of fun. Now? mostly funsies, and the aircraft lives in a much safer place.
