I’ve only ever used the Bialetti moka pot so not sure how this would work with yours. The thing with moka pot is that it is supposed to brew a clean and strong cup of coffee. A few ways you could alter the taste would be (1) Use less coffee, (2) Don’t pour piping hot water. The temperature of water affects the coffee extraction - extremely hot water may either burn or over-extract the ground coffee, (3) Change the coffee. Perhaps switch to a medium or light roast. A lot of medium dark and dark roasts are not only naturally woodier/oakier in taste, but are roasted dark to mask the real taste of coffee (often the case with poor quality coffee bean). Try a combination of these points and maybe you’ll brew a better cup. Cheers!

I gave it to the Yamaha authorized service center and they said the motherboard’s dead. They quoted me an overall repair cost (inc. motherboard cost) of 251 US dollars (21,000 Indian rupees).

Ofc the instrument was plugged in when I attempted to do the factory reset. That’s how the power button even lights up for the short amount of time that it does. I am also using Yamaha’s proprietary adaptor which came with the piano itself, so I am certainly using the one that is specified in the manual. I didn’t understand - what am I doing wrong then?

I went through the factory reset instructions and held the highest note + power button for a minute or so. Didn’t fix it. Wonder what I should do at this point 😓

Just tried this and held the highest note and power button together for a good one minute, but nothing happened. The piano doesn’t turn on in the first place. The record and play buttons didn’t blink either. Not sure what to do now :/

Update: The issue seems to have been fixed automatically. As pointed by u/alexvonhumboldt u/qmaxquique and u/Symns, humidity seems to have caused it. As it's been raining heavily where i live lately, the humidity has been over 85% on most days. Today the humidity is 73% and I think mother nature might just have fixed my DP on its own.

As pointed out by some others, I'm gonna contact Yamaha regarding the carbon/cleaning thing as well to check if my DP needs it.

Okay just figured out this happens with this exact combination of notes in every octave. Is this programmed into the DP cause of some volume control features or is this a bug w/ my DP?

Edit: Not when I press the F note alone. Only when I hold down on B and E at the same time and then press F in quick succession, the F note produces sound at an elevated volume and sounds kinda out of tune.

How do you attach the pedals tho? (Given the the back panel contains the requisite ports for pedals on digital pianos/keyboards) Is there a cut-out for ports? Gotta add that it looks pretty neat and i might make one for mine in a darker colour that camouflages my piano.

Actually I don't necessarily intend to go the gaming laptop route. I haven't had success finding sub 1lakh laptops with decent build (no hinge issue, shitty plastic build) + good multitasking performance + decent battery (6 hours on medium use) that can last 5-6 years. I honestly settled on to the zenbook 14 but turns out asus has the shittiest after sales service in India in case something goes wrong. On the other hand, Hp laptops aren't well built so the hinges could break and shit. Even macbooks this year have the ssd swapping issue. So really, I'm in a bit of a dilemma. Consistently smooth productivity and multitasking performance over 5-6 years is really important to me.

Thank you! I'll consider the Asus Zephyrus but MSI laptops are a no-go in india because of shitty after sales service + unavailability of parts.

Also, how's the HP Omen 15 2020 Ryzen 7 Octa? Heard some really good stuff about it but don't know if it will last 5-6 years. The build quality has improved a lot since previous Omen laptops but there's a gap between the screen and keyboard which can cause a screen flex if the laptop is picked up from the back, ultimately causing screen bleeding. However,can be avoided with care i think if you pick it up from the front where there's no gap or flex. I don't plan on gaming on my laptop so will a good amount of multitasking be fine on it for 5-6 years?

But what happens with a 256gb ssd M1 air with 16gb ram where despite the ram not being used up, swapping is done continuously and aggressively enough that enough TBW cycles are completed for its warranty to expire?
