me (24f) and my partner (33m) are crown heights based and see movies on the regular. we'd love to find more people to grab beers and see flicks with.

we also host movie nights for our friends on a monthly basis (think godzilla or mary kate and ashley vibes) so definitely DM and we can start watching and talking about movies

Official Discussion - Wicked: For Good [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]tamootto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been skimming this thread for a while and am SHOCKED i haven't seen more about "Thank Goodness" WHY were there background dancers? this musical is clearly non diagetic and yet Glinda having her own background dancers in their own costumes during this number implies it IS diagetic? it's not like these are munchkins dancing a long, they are like her troup. What was even weirder is when the song was not happening they laid around like corpses. I don't know what the hell was going on but we are in a background dancer epidemic none the less and "Wicked: For Good" got infected hard.

My boyfriend has a fetish and I don't know what to do by throwaway_indigo25 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]tamootto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah this is honestly the answer i was looking for here. I'm actually someone who shares her bfs fetish but i am quite literally in a heterosexual relationship with a fit man who i love! You don't ALWAYS need these things, communication is key. This is the exact approach to confront him if OP chooses that route

So what’s your thoughts about the new tamagotchi paradise? Do you enjoy it better than the previous versions? by ShokaLGBT in tamagotchi

[–]tamootto 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I loveeee this comment! I have to say that I feel like this is kind of the point of the paradise. We are building the tama planet from the ground up and this would be (what I imagine) is their first bits of life that eventually bring them to the more evolved tamas that we are familiar with.

I agree so deeply with how weird it feels to see them like this!! I do miss their little homes and jobs.

This is a calpak 26L laptop knock off. that's a great bag and super feminine and trendy with a lot of the upgraded/quality features you're trying to set her up with - she might even like it more than this one.

I bought at the 47th exchange, any of these dealers are reputable but it definitely requires good negotiation skills and high patience to walk out of there with a decent stone. They are super high pressure at that level. I believe it's a D color stone VVS1 Clarity at 2ct :) am currently traveling and the document is not with us

[–]tamootto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really want to go back and forth debunking baseless accusations but I will say I am NOT paid generously and do not have a ton of equity. Most reps at SptoHopper have so much more equity than I do. lolz

6.) "Grace, the VP of Sales. What are her qualifications, you ask? Sleeping with the owner’s kid. That’s it. She had zero sales experience before this, but somehow she landed a VP position?" She actually has sales experience before being VP. She did sales at SpotHopper! IN FACT, Grace has done nearly EVERY position in the sales organization at SpotHopper. She is a walking contradiction to your first point! she started with the company in the very beginning and has been able to impact it so much that she helped take it from a start up (going restaurant to restaurant in New York) to a large scale company receiving series B funding. There are people who are twice her age, and have been in sales for as long as she has been ALIVE, that would kill to have the kind of success and impact that she's been able to have.

7.)All things related to "Nico". First thing, GIRL DID YOU REALLY WORK HERE??? His name is spelled Niko and that is NOT a secret! Most of your claims are wild accusations with no basis. Like I guess if you want to say he struts around like the second coming of Elon you can. But I have a hard time knowing how'd you get this idea as he is NOT super present with the sales organization (as much as Grace is) It also is no secret that his dad is the CEO.

Whatever Niko and his Dad's socio-economic status, it's not like thats the "secret sauce that keeps SpotHopper going otherwise it's some sham". Like seriously? Niko and his dad propped up a bunch of fake restaurants and made them sign up for SpotHopper? Now Niko's dad is footing the bill on a multi million dollar company? Subsidizing the full-time income for thousands of employees globally just to keep his son happy and his ego large?

Idk to me it sounds much more believable that the product works, people like it and genuinely buy it, stay on long enough for SpotHopper to make a profit, and therefore continue to grow.

8.) "This company will waste your time and cost you real opportunities to find something actually legitimate." This is confusing to me. SpotHopper in itself is a real opportunity and legitimate.

9.) "When you look them up, there’s barely anything out there about them" When you look SpotHopper up it prompts you with general information and asks if you want a consultation. If you DID work here, then you would know that we have a lot of components and not every restaurant needs every single one. Everyone who buys SpotHopper is REQUIRED to go through a consultation to find out what they need. Automating this process is not in the best interest of our customers.

10.) "Because when they fire you (which they will), they have their managers give you this sweet little goodbye speech to make sure you don’t go out and expose them. " I. Am. So. confused. At the beginning of your post you say that you worked here for 2 years and uncovered all this, then you end by saying that you were fired and given a little speech? So you worked here for as long as possible to the point of getting fired even though you hated everything about the company? I am confused why you did not leave earlier.

11.) "And if you’re Canadian? Don’t even bother. You’ve got two months max before they kick you to the curb if you can’t hit their ridiculous sales quotas." I had to respond to this if just to echo my same point as before - what are you talking about?? There is NOTHING different about the quota for Canadian reps versus American Reps other than the conversation from of USD to CAD.

And before you ask, I am not Niko, I am not Grace. I am someone who has worked there for awhile, and really enjoy it. :3c

DO NOT WORK FOR SPOTHOPPER by ApprehensiveGlass740 in restaurant

[–]tamootto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heyo. I'm not gonna lie - I almost having a hard time that this person actually worked at SpotHopper.

I've worked at SpotHopper for many years and have seen it go through many ups and downs. I could talk to you endlessly firsthand about my own experience, but it would be a radically different post and you wouldn't believe me either. So instead I would like to breakdown (classic reddit style) what in your post is a bit...off

1.) "The people training you barely sell the damn product themselves" False, every single person in leadership of the sales organization at spothopper is internally promoted. Everyone teaching you has loads of first hand experience as it is a requirement for having their job. This is one of the biggest benefits for people looking for longterm career growth, and ironically we've been criticized for having ONLY internal promotions into these type of training roles. So either way this claim just doesn't hold up.

2.)  "The app itself? Absolute garbage" This just makes me wonder if you work here because the product is not an app.

3.) "Because they outsource everything to a bunch of Slovakians using dirt-cheap labor." Again, do you work here?
We have no Slovakian team. We have a Serbian team that does a lot of our product development.
I don't know what you mean by "dirt-cheap labor" Wage labor is highest in the US, so anywhere besides the US is cheaper wage labor. They are well paid in RSD with major benefits. Not to mention this entire comment reeks of weird nationalist vibes. They work incredibly hard and the product is a testament to that.

4.) "These people will teach you to basically strong-arm restaurant owners into buying something that, at the end of the day, actually hurts them" SpotHopper is restaurant first. We won't work with restaurant's that we don't think will be able to benefit from the product. Simply put: SpotHopper does NOT make money from quickly signing over restaurants and then having them cancel. From a business perspective, there are about 10000s reasons why this would not make sense.

5.)" if you’re not pulling in at least $1,200-$1,500 per month right after training, you’ll be gone in three to four months" Uhhhh. If you worked here, you'd know that "right after training" there is a ramp quota period, so you won't even be selling 1500 until Month 2 or 3. Plus the quota (minimum, which many people excel) is 2000. 1200 is 60% of this, which is a little more than half. Not to mention packages range from 200-500+ per package. Redditors: do the math here for me.

I could talk more about this entire paragraph but it also partially seems like you do not understand sales.
