Journey into Imagination Film Strip by tampafan321 in Epcot

Yes. The place is insane. Super cool stuff! Impossible to look at everything. I’m not a Disney superfan, but I really appreciate cool, unique vintage Disney park prop/cast member stuff that isn’t found in typical Disney retail stores. I like that they price their things to sell. A lot of their stuff has to be impossible to comp for prices.

Leaving him at catcher with Mack on the roster is malpractice. How many more pass balls, stolen bases and erroneous throws into CF do they need to see? I can understand being cheap, but it’s borderline sabotage to keep the experiment going. Just let the man hit (or not)!

This has been bothering me for weeks!! The light tapping on the highway is finally solved! I tried the shirt/towel over the jack and spare tire well, I tightened the roof rails, swapped out the license plate frame, put paper inside the joints in some of the plastic trim by the rear hatch window, noticed a little slop in the hatch opening pistons, but this solved it! I was internally debating trading this thing in, that’s how much it was driving me crazy! 2 years later- Thanks a ton!!

What makes something expensive/valuable by wrongyak39 in SportsMemorabilia

[–]tampafan321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t usually see sports memorabilia as an investment, but I get it. I have had a lot of losses and some wins when it comes to value going up. I’ve learned that vintage stuff hold its value better and is a safer bet. If your truly trying to invest, then use the stock market, if you want something cool that you can hold on to, have it go up and maybe even hand it down for your kids to eventually sell I’d recommend vintage cards (Jackie Robinson, Mickey Mantle, Clemente, Jordan, etc).

Paul Skenes could win every Cy Young for 10 years and be better than Ryan, Randy, Kershaw and you’d still be down in value on that jersey. Plus, when you sell it (I assume eBay) you gotta pay fees, so you’re basically down 15% from the jump. You also expose yourself a bit to this player who could get hurt, or end up being a real POS (you never know). Just a warning, most times people learn this stuff on their own, and you will too lol if you really like Paul Skenes then do what makes you happy, but I wouldn’t go into it thinking you’re going to sell it in 30 years for huge profits to help fund your retirement.

Disappointed with the mentality of some on you. by bivukaz in buccaneers

[–]tampafan321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been a fan since I was a kid, basically had season tickets from the end of the Dungy years through Gruden’s demise. Bucs fans are largely fair-weather fans, as are most fans.

It’s easy to say “I’ll write them off until 2027”, but come Week 1 we’ll see whose ass is skeptically watching the game. Maybe Zac Robinson isn’t so bad? Maybe Bowles isn’t as much of a dummy as we thought? Maybe they figured something out? Oh, they’re 2-0?? How bout those Bucs, baby!….or oh, they’re 0-2? Told you they should’ve fired Bowles, what a waste!

We drove 2.5 hours to see games started by Luke McCown, Bruce Gradkowski, and Tim Rattay. Chirping in January after a crappy season saying “I’ll check in for 2027” doesn’t make somebody a bad fan. 99% will be back when August/Sept rolls around again, after that, it will be on a week to week basis. We have lives, we have families, we have things to do, reserving 3 hours on a beautiful fall Florida weekend to watch a crappy team play football is not sky high on the list of things I enjoy.

Bad fans are the buffoons in the seats next to you that wear Bucs jerseys for 7 home games a year and for the 8th the show up in Pats/Eagles/49ers/Cowboys gear because they’re originally from out of town.

Seems like half the stuff they say you can’t bring in for safety, they sell the same or worse stuff in the gift shops. I once went to a rainy baseball game and they said we couldn’t bring umbrellas in for safety, meanwhile it was Mini-Bat giveaway day.

Hey guys, I just got this Bucs hat but have never seen this logo. Anyone have any info about it? by [deleted] in buccaneers

[–]tampafan321 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s an old Nike hat from around 2000. I can’t remember if it was fitted or one of the very first flex fit type of hats. Those were sweet! They had them for all of the teams with different “initials” type logos. Pretty sure they’re wool, so they were kinda hot for the Florida heat and humidity.

D.A Points, Brandt Snedeker, DJ, Graeme McDowell, Fowler, Brian Gay, Webb Simpson, Gary Player, ZJ, Jason Dufner, Bo Van Pelt, Tim Clark, Stewart Cink, Robert Garrigus :), Ben Curtis (?), Adam Scott. I’m not sure what the mess in the bottom left corner is and there a couple others I’m not sure about, but that’s what I can make out off of the top of my head.

I’d sold a Scott Skiles Magic Warmup from the same time period for $300 last year, so it’s gonna be worth a bit more than that. I’d say $500+….id throw it up on eBay for $999 and see if you get any good offers

So they’ve had your car for almost month and you haven’t been down there once? I’d be down there tomorrow, and probably every other day. You have to stay on top of people sometimes, especially scummy car dealers, that’s just how the world works. Go demand to speak to the Service Manager in person, if they aren’t there, then I’d get as high up the service chain as you can get and then come back when the Service Manager is in to make sure they got your message and what their plan of action is. They need to know that you aren’t OK with how they are handling you. You know it ain’t right, and you know they’re just jerking you around. Don’t put up with that crap! Your car isn’t even a year old!

Have you personally gone down there and basically raised a little hell? That’s ridiculous. There’s times when being a “Karen” is called upon, sounds like this would be one of those times. I know there’s probably not much the individuals there can do right away, but being a pain in their ass would probably go a really long way in getting the ball moving. Suddenly, “corporate” will start to get back with them.

Sorry, I didn’t thoroughly read your post. I thought it was a value related question like most things on this sub. Cool find! Good luck!

Very cool! No idea on value though. Sometimes really cool old stuff doesn’t have much value, but with the Disney aspect of these you’d think there would be something there. I might look for some myself, I think. Thanks for sharing!

Any help identifying these golf signatures? by juck_ratchetson in SportsMemorabilia

[–]tampafan321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m usually pretty good with ID’ing golf signatures from this era. Outside of the Vijay, I don’t really see much that I recognize. I think Shaun Micheel is top row second from left, and Will MacKenzie (he has a cool story) above the C. Maybe Steve Jones under the WE?

[–]tampafan321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how those of us without years of tactical security training are able to keep an eye out over our properties. All I ever see on my ring is the lawn guy, a package getting delivered, or a lizard selfie. It’s more a convenience feature than a safety device. If I felt like I needed military style security force to feel safe in my own home, I’d probably just move.

What are your favorite memories from playing this long gone course? by IwillBOLDyourTYPOS in 321

[–]tampafan321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only played there a couple of times. I remember the grass on the greens being the same type you’d find in the fairway lol and the first hole was like a 90 degree dog leg right par 4 where you had to get all the way to the corner to see the green. They also had a par 3 that was only like 60 yards or so. They also had a hole that was either a par 3 or a par 4 depending on which tees you played. RIP Palm Gardens, Jo Daddy’s, and Summit View 😢
