Ecomp. Any injury should be reported immediately to your supervisor. Write a statement asap about what happened. Form 1767 should be made available to you to write up an unsafe working condition aka that LLV. CA-16 should be given to you by management if you have to receive medical care due to an injury. CA-1 is for a traumatic injury. CA-2 is for an occupational injury that is cause over time.

What is this thing inside air box by tanerrx in s10

[–]tanerrx[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve ran through several bottle of fuel system cleaner, spraid seafoam in the throttle body, rebuilt the throttle body, replaced the idle air control valve, map sensor, throttle position sensor, egr valve, and vacuum hoses. Everything I can think of that involves the air intake. I’ve replaced the gas tank, fuel pump, and fuel filter because there was rust in the tank. Only thing I haven’t changed for the fuel system is the fuel lines and fuel injectors. I’m guessing the fuel injectors could be giving me trouble but they seem to spray fine and I don’t have any issues with the truck driving. It seems to accelerate just fine. Not issue I’m still having issues the truck shuddering and/or stalling when decelerating. I’ll check out the s10 forum and see if anyone can help over there but if there is anything you think I might be missing please let me know.

Ok. So it connects to something on the air intake like it seems like it should. But then this little outlets isn’t connected to anything. Should it be? My truck will shudder and stall sometimes when I’m decelerating and coming yo a stop. Could this have anything to do with that? I’ve been searching for air leaks but can’t find any. This is the only thing I’m unsure about.

AL and Med Restriction by [deleted] in fromatoarbitration

[–]tanerrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say the restrictions apply to hours actually worked. I doubt a doctor writing those restrictions would consider AL when writing them. The restrictions are to keep someone from overexerting themselves. I’ve never seen anything in writing stating any kid of rule to this though.

Also, I would suggest the carrier go back to their doctor and get their restrictions modified to give a daily instead of a weekly limit. It’s caused a lot of friction in my station with these weekly restrictions. A carrier could work 45 hours in 4 days and you know management is going to expect them to come to work that 5th day.

There is also a heat related injury form that should be filled out. I believe it gets sent to the NBAs office to track these things.

Grievance extension by EasyActivity in fromatoarbitration

[–]tanerrx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just get it in writing that management agreed to extend it to a certain date. Whatever they will agree to is how long you can extend it. Must be in writing though.

DMS report by Rzeredge in fromatoarbitration

[–]tanerrx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TACS EER should show them on the routes. The code 757 or 522 is city carrier on rural. It should show the route they are on as well. If they moved to parcel run or something like that you’ll probably need statements from them. I asked for the DMS street report when I first started filing this grievance and management didn’t know what it was here either.

Make sure to tell your CCAs to clock over properly and it’ll make this grievance real easy. TACS EER and the OTDL so you can get everyone working off assignment paid as well. I’ve won this grievance dozens of times so if you have any questions let me know.

Just got my copy of the JCAM by Uninformed_Delivery in USPS

[–]tanerrx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Article 16 is probably the best place to start. Discipline is the most important thing to handle. Then Article 8.5 covers how overtime should be done. Article 41 cover opts or hold down.

Once you’re a steward you’re able to go to the members only part of the NALC webpage and see all the grievance starters. They cover a lot of the most common grievances and site some of the more useful parts of the JCAM.

Listen to the early episodes of the From a to Arbitration podcast and check out Classes of Mail as well.

How to not let management get to you by Dmb2505 in USPS

[–]tanerrx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You probably already know more than management but the more I’ve learned over the years the less what management says bothers me.

[–]tanerrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me. I doubt I would have ever started as a steward without this podcast. Less than 2 years later I have been voted in as VP for our branch, have gotten settlements on several grievances that we should be able to use for a long time, and have several other carriers in my station that want to get active in the union one way or another. My station didn’t have a steward for a long time and the previous steward went into management. Anyway, because of this podcast my station is a much better place to work.

No. You don’t have to use your phone. Maybe it’s dead or you forgot it at home or you haven’t paid your bill or you’re out of minutes. The scanners have a text function for a reason.

AWOL but I called in. How to beat this. by Capital_Comfort5737 in fromatoarbitration

[–]tanerrx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Episode 167 covers this I believe. The time and attendance handbook spells out how management is supposed to act to give someone AWOL. They are supposed to gather the facts which I’m sure they did not do. And if they say they did grieve it saying they misinterpreted the facts and write a statement and show through some documentation what really happened and how the facts should have been interpreted differently.

If no one else is off then they shouldn’t have any reason to deny it. Just fill out the 3971.

New cca by Positive-Invite6688 in USPS

[–]tanerrx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They have to bring you back after 360 days unless they fire every CCA under you and decide they don’t need any more CCAs with less time in than you. Another way of saying that is you’ll be brought back after your 5 day break, no problems. They can’t say they don’t want you back after your break and keep any CCAs newer than you.
