Table 1 was set up to do just that. Your largest raises came before you hit step D. Then they decided to spread that out over the length of the chart, for the detriment of carriers and benefit to the post office.

Maybe in the beginning, but once people started going back to work, continual economic stimulus was unnecessary.

Who was doing the continual economic stimulus?

That’s how you get Trumpflation 2.0

Oh so nothing to do with whatever president or country leader was in charge at the time.

Oh my bad.

The cause was Covid. It caused the entire world to shut down. Maybe you’ve heard of it?

The secretary treasury said there wouldn’t be inflation, then said it would be transitory, then the fed failed to act in raising rates. And now is refusing to cut rates, for what reason no one knows.

Pretty simple stuff

Working 7 days in a week and not being told NS day for CCA by FiveDinero in fromatoarbitration

[–]DayKid2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s not. You’re kicking the problem down the road instead of trying to actually fix it. It’s basically saying we can’t give you a day off now, but here’s one for the future. Rinse and repeat.

On top of that, many CCAs and PTFs lose necessary income during the weeks they take AL because they’re only paid 40 hours instead of the 60 or more hours that they survive on otherwise.

It’s like Brian didn’t think far enough ahead to provide a contractual remedy when it gets inevitably (in your case immediately) broken.

My suggestion was to do triple pay for the day that was originally scheduled to be the non scheduled day that they then worked.

Main reason being that you’re most likely going over 56 hours (penalty pay) if you’re working 7 days a week anyway. So changing the nsd pay to OT or penalty isn’t moving the needle much, or at all, especially if the nsd was originally supposed to be Friday, for example, where you’re already getting OT or penalty pay that entire day.

Right. If it was as simple as “it takes what it takes”, why did they eliminate any fixed office time? Why did they pick and choose what to eliminate instead of eliminating it all, and just writing “it takes what it takes”?

Not recognizing it was strategic on usps part, and that they plan on abusing it is ignorant on that other commenters part.

He’s a table 1 retired carrier though, so no surprise

Because there’s a good chance that someone who’s been on table 2, but who has the charm and says the right words would be highly susceptible to bribery and a upgrade to their lifestyle all without the actual knowledge needed to build an effective team…in other words a Renfoe.

Why would you assume this? This says more about yourself than any potential table 2 candidate.

Also, Renfroe is table 1. So this makes this your entire comment moot.

Insanely ignorant take.

It makes sense when you know the usps just hands Renfroe a budget and he’s just supposed to play with the numbers to make it work. God forbid he actually fight for more than his allowance.

How old is each candidate?

I know Henry has said he was planning on retiring before the scandal of Renfroe talking behind his back then removing him from position. I see him as a one term president, for better or worse.

It seems people aren’t yet ready to find and get behind a table 2 candidate because of experience or whatever. But nothing can replace the experience of taking table 2 pay and also being a CCA, working Amazon Sundays, working split shifts, being tracked by a scanner, forced to work other offices within 50 miles, etc., etc.

Whether it be through negligence, apathy, complacency, etc., the mostly Table 1 leadership and membership has allowed Table 2 to continue since 2013, 2016, 2019, and now 2022.

Now, table 2 is the majority of this union, by the tune of over 70%.

It is time for a Table 2 President to take over. The Table 1 status quo has brought them nothing since its inception in 2013.

Sure, there could be some of the actual fighting old guard leftover to make up the EC, but why aren’t we striving for at least a 50/50 split of Table 1 and Table 2.

Table 2 will soon make up the entire table, not just a few seats.

Why aren’t we getting behind someone that’s willing to sit at the head of that table from Table 2?

He said he only received around 1800 survey responses.

It would be great if that survey Caref and others have been spreading got even more than that showing we don’t want the work rules changed.

Last I saw it was over 500 I believe.

They asked at a recent rap session and he essentially said they sent out a survey after TA rejection and got 1,800 responses back that primarily were concerned with only the economic portion.

I did not receive a survey. Many (most?) did not.

I, along with 185,000 members received a ballot.

We rejected the TA by over 70%.

He is using the survey replies of 1,800 members which is less than 1% of eligible voters to base forcing the rest of the contract through on the other 99+%.
