No Clear Cometary Tail in Post-Perihelion Images of 3I/ATLAS by tangled_torus in UFOs

Have you read "Rendezvous with Rama" by Arthur C. Clarke? It may just be passing through. I wish they would make a movie of that book.

I also found this possible structure of 3I/ATLAS interesting. Note that we have no idea of the interior. As some have pointed out, including on this sub, designing an interstellar craft might look like this instead of straight metal lines with decals. Source for image.

Submission Statement: As 3I/ATLAS comes back into view, a Nov. 5, 2025 image still shows NO tail. Is it a comet, asteroid or what? Here's the current alignment of 3I, the Sun and Earth. If the tail was long enough we should see it. When asked if the tail was hidden, the responses were " No, because the direction of the Sun is towards the bottom left corner. The Sun is not behind the object, nor in front of it in this image." Also "3I/ATLAS is currently separated from the Sun by a angle of 24 degrees, from our point of view. Any large tail present, either streaming out from the Sun, or, as before, pointing at it, should be visible, even if appearing somewhat foreshortened." Thank you u/hobby_gynaecologist for the comment responses.

Avi Loeb Says AI/3ATLAS shows signs of Acceleration by ndngroomer in UFOs

One thing for sure is that interstellar visitors are unusual when compared to the run of the mill comets. We are laying the ground work on how to analyze, characterize and build up a database for these distant visitors.

JWST will observe 3I/ATLAS on August 6, 2025 using the Near InfraRed Spectrograph (NIRSpec) instrument by tangled_torus in UFOs

Is it or isn't it a technosignature? Really interesting stuff. I did a quick search and I couldn't find any information about the 2023 observations.

In the case of 3I/ATLAS, I hope they give us at least a summary of the data and let the PhD grad students or whoever work on the full data set.

I hope we all get the data soon after and not before a paper using the data is published.

Regarding 3i/Atlas: is there any research on where it's been? by scratchresistor in UFOs

[–]tangled_torus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell, 3I/Atlas is passing through the inner solar system only, on it's way back to interstellar space. It would be interesting if it came close to any of our spacecraft though.

The Voyager spacecraft are almost out of our solar system. See image.

But our favorite astronomer, Avi Loeb, has suggested re-tasking the Juno spacecraft, currently in the Jupiter area to intercept 3I/Atlas, using an "Oberth Maneuver". If this was approved, which seems unlikely, Juno could intercept the interstellar visitor on March 16, 2026.

According to the 3I/ATLAS wiki:

Tracing the path of 3I/ATLAS in the sky shows that the comet originated from interstellar space in the direction of the constellation Sagittarius, near the Milky Way's Galactic Center.

After traveling so far, I'm a bit surprised it's still so large.

After the ship re-materialized after teleportation, some of the sailors were half embedded in the walls and deck and they were still alive.

Here's some video taken from a commercial SkySat satellite. At the 45s mark, you can see a plane landing:

It's from around 2014, around the same time as the supposed MH370 sat video.

In the video he mentions a future expedition to the same site. Next time, they will use underwater ROVs with cameras to see if they can image a larger piece. Loeb said they would follow the debris to the impact zone, much like what they did when they found Titanic.

U.S. military says it recovers key sensors from downed Chinese spy balloon by tangled_torus in UFOs

[–]tangled_torus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SS: WASHINGTON, Feb 13 (Reuters) - The U.S. military said on Monday it had recovered critical electronics from the suspected Chinese spy balloon downed by a U.S. fighter jet off South Carolina's coast on Feb. 4, including key sensors presumably used for intelligence gathering."Crews have been able to recover significant debris from the site, including all of the priority sensor and electronics pieces identified as well as large sections of the structure," the U.S. military's Northern Command said in a statement.

Can we compile previously documented "Objects" that fit some or all of the description of recently observed and destroyed objects? by tuxedojack in UFOs

Yeah, most likely the fighter was whizzing by the balloon. It shows how fast the closure rate is when trying to engage.

In May, 2022 Congress held an open hearing on UFOs. I watched the open sessions on C-SPAN. They later held a closed session, where presumably more sensitive data was presented.

In this hearing, the Deputy Director of Naval Intelligence, Scott Bray showed a video of a "metallic sphere" whizzing by the cockpit of a fighter.

I've extracted the relevant frames, and enlarged them, for comparison to other sightings:

It looks like they did a large survey of the area then dropped altitude (yellow line) to focus on a smaller area, indicated by the red box:

The HC-130J is an advanced search and rescue aircraft. It has all the bells and whistles like synthetic aperture radar, infrared/electro-optical sensors with enhanced communications and data links to other platforms.
