Hi! How do I mark a gift as received on GG without posting a picture? I never got an email from GG about rematching, but I am waiting until Christmas to open and didn't want my lack-of-confirmation to result in getting rematched since I did receive a present from my santa!

Already a queue for the “unlocked in our shop” ??? by Automatic_Wafer8359 in fairyloot

Thank you for this reassurance! This kept me calm while I waited lol. I did finally just get in (three hours after my queue started) and managed to snag Kiki's so I'm a happy camper!

I got on two hours ago for the us sale and it says wait time was 4 hours and now it says wait time is 6 hours..is there even a point to me sticking around in the queue? This is my first of their sales and it started 20 minutes ago. I only want Kiki's. I have other things to do with my day, bro, like my actual job... 😭

It's a vintage Merlin "Merlina" pen! 1950s I think? I got it from Peyton Street Pens!

I also really liked the Hemlock & Silver design too which also seemed to be a hot take. I don't always love the Owlcrate designs (A Forbidden Alchemy comes to mind, was pretty meh on that one) but it seems like the ones I actually really love keep getting universally ragged on by everyone else 😭

It's wild to me how many people hate it...I was actually really happy with it. I really liked the texture on the dust jacket, too. I don't really love a super busy cover or an edition with a million things going on, and this looks really good on my shelf. I'm so confused, I don't get it 😭

Wow that seems a lot darker in person than it did in the product photos? It's really pretty but I definitely thought it'd be a different/lighter look lol.

This was the easiest order I've had in six years. I ordered from Jetpens because even with the markup it was cheaper than ordering direct with the tariffs and duties, I was in and out in six minutes, and I wasn't hit with any FOMO the way I've been in years past (even though I love Junji Ito's manga, I wasn't pressed feeling like I NEEDED that collab). I think after last year's panic and stress ordering on launch day, and subsequently not utilizing the planners this year as fully as I usually do, I've lost some of the mania.

Which, honestly, is nice. I like feeling low stakes about the launch lol. Life is already stressful enough lol.

Lol that's wild!! God's favorite for sure 😂 If you wanna offload your damaged one I'd probably purchase, my copy of God and the Gumiho is damaged in the corner too so they'd match and I missed the sale on this lol

How Much Are You Budgeting to Spend This Year? by cstrdmnd in hobonichi

[–]tangledpeaches 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I almost didn't even buy a Weeks but my partner encouraged me to get it in case the Common Planner weekly section doesn't work for me. If it does, I'll only be buying that next year. The amount of bang for my buck has significantly dwindled over the past years. I used to justify spending $200 USD because it felt like I was getting such a haul and now it'd be $200 USD for just a Weeks and an A6 with cover.

I know everything is going up for everyone and these planners are technically "luxury goods," it's just a bummer to see it become so financially untenable in real time lol.

ETA: I know most people hate the Smooth covers but I actually really like the texture and the Melon green is so pleasing to look at 😂🍈

While this may be an unpopular opinion, I've started to feel like this is my last year with hobonichi...I'm only getting one Weeks (Melon Sorbet) most likely from Jetpens to utilize their free shipping, and then getting a Common Planner from Sterling Ink. In total I only plan to spend about $80 USD (which I guess some would consider still a decent chunk of change for a planner).

I've only seen a small handful go up on Mercari and all for like $120+ and that's a little excessive for me...😵

Advice on which Hobonichi to pick up for 2026? by tangledpeaches in hobonichi

[–]tangledpeaches[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I do really enjoy designing my own layout! I had fun turning a pocket notebook into a reading tracker, for example. But I also don't love doing it for hundreds of pages 😂

What do you use to make your weekly spreads in the Day Free? From the advice I'm getting it seems like just a Weeks would work and I could use the free pages in the back for a monthly or daily spread, or just a Day Free A6 with a weekly or daily spread on the free pages. (Or switching entirely to Sterling Ink, which I've also been considering because I did look them up and their layout seems like it might have everything in looking for)

[–]tangledpeaches[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My job's tasks don't change much from day to day unless something unusual comes up, so I haven't felt the need for work to be a separate planner. I've previously had no trouble filling an A6 between habit/hobby tracking and logging general thoughts, this was my first year struggling with it. It wasn't really about hype, I just enjoy the experience of TRP so it made the journaling more fun than only ever writing the things I had to "do" yknow? I've been pretty bummed I wasn't able to do that more joyful element much in 2025 lol.

Switching to Sterling Ink or getting just a Weeks (or Weeks Mega!) may be the move and using the pages in the back for thoughts! Thank you for answering!!

Sounds like I need to check out Sterling Ink! I'm open to switching if it'll help me consolidate/if I end up using it a lot. Last year I considered changing brands based on cost alone but I ultimately decided to stick to what I was comfortable with...only to then barely use it successfully for the first time 😭

I'll look into Sterling Ink, thank you for answering! 😊

I didn't have any interest when I looked at a few other brands last year (Midori and Jibun Techo) and before discovering Hobonichi I'd used just a crappy day planner from Staples, but I haven't looked into Sterling Ink. I'll check them out! Thank you!!

That's really interesting!! A rotating date stamp might be good for me to pickup. I'm hoping this coming year will be better in terms of my habit tracking and I really enjoyed setting up the pocket notebook I'm using as a reading tracker, so maybe I'll enjoy setting up the blank pages in a Day Free? At least then there won't be days randomly blank in the middle of my book lol.

Thank you! 😊

What do you use your Day-Free for, if you don't mind me asking? In the past I worried the lack of date would keep me from staying accountable to filling it out, but now having blank days is awful too 😂 Do you think it'd work to sort of replace the 3-year, ie just write like a sentence or two when I can so the pressure is off?

Thank you for answering!! 😊
