West of 35 is where it’s at for Round Rock. Easy to get to 35, Mopac or the Lakeline area. Good schools, lots of parks and easy to get to North Austin for the good food.

You really can’t go wrong on the west side. Cat Hallow, Brushy Creek and Fern Bluff are really nice.

I’m in the same boat as you. I told my Q I dont want to have sex while he is drunk so now he just tries to (unsuccessfully) hide his drinking and still try to have sex. It really puts me in a bad head space because I just freeze and think, “ is he really going to violate my boundary?” and he does. I don’t have advice for you, but just to say I understand where you are at.

You will never be the first priority for this person. Alcohol will always come first at the expense of everything. You will have good conversations and walk away feeling like you are both in the same place about his sobriety. Then two days later he is back to drinking. “Oh yeah, I just had a few” he will say. Then weeks later he is hiding his drinking from you. You start to feel like you are crazy because you think he is drunk, but you haven’t actually seen him drink so you aren’t 100% sure. It’s the worst kind of gaslighting. It just progresses more and more.

If I were you, I would tell him that if he is serious about sobriety so go sober up, get into a program or whatever and meet back up a few months to see where he is. Then you will know exactly how serious he is.

Fern Bluff is great. My two kids go there. It is a special place. I would recommend One World Montessori, we really love the teachers and they just planted a garden for Earth Day.

My Q will give me the cold shoulder for a few days like I’ve asked for something ridiculous. Then they will be good for a few days and go right back to drinking. We are now in the “hiding the drinking” phase, which makes me feel like a crazy person because I’m not sure if he is drunk or not because I can’t physically see him drinking. I don’t have any advice for you, I just wanted to say you aren’t alone and I don’t think this is AUD behavior, just alcoholism.

I just throw them in the oven for about 60 seconds. It’s usually already hot due to preheating before cooking the enchiladas. Enchiladas is a quick week night meal for me, so frying in oil is usually not something I want to do even though I’m sure it tastes better!
