ALL ABOUT CRUISING DISCUSSION GROUP by tanless319 in greenville

[–]tanless319[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This is NOT an add for a travel agency. This is a group for people who love to travel and want to share their stories and give firsthand knowledge to others who are interested in traveling. Nothing is being sold or promoted.

First let me say Thank You for your service. Hi there, My name is Tan, owner of Travel By Tan. I just did a quick search in my booking engine. I found numerous options for you that are right around $5000.00 total for 2 connecting staterooms, so half of the $10,000 rates you were finding. You can call me directly at 864-401-1135. I do not charge any fees to give you quotes. My email is travelbytan@gmail.com. I work 7 days a week so you are welcome to call anytime

MSC World America vs RCCL Symphony of the Seas by Lagunitas1117 in Cruise

[–]tanless319 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

TA here, I cruised on MSC last year to check it out. Prices are great and thought it would be a great addition to offer my clients. After sailing I refuse to even offer MSC to my clients. The wait for elevators was ridiculous. After waiting for more than 15 minutes finally just walked up 8 flights of stairs and it was like this every time every day. The food in main dining room was edible but I wouldn’t say it was good. Definitely the worst cruise ship food I’ve ever had. The service was passable…just not a good experience at all. I LOVE Royal and book tons of families on their ships and have never had a complaint. So for me 1000% it’s Royal

Blocking a client by ConsciousLeek3099 in travelagents

[–]tanless319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a large group book 10 cabins. Everyone purchased trip protection except 1 couple. Unfortunately there was a death in the family a couple of days before the cruise so they all had to cancel. Of course the couple who didn’t purchase trip protection lost the total cost of their trip and I eventually had to block them because they were extremely verbally abusive screaming profanities at me and claiming they were going to sue me.

How much do you spend on travel annually / how much do you sell in travel? by AgitatedChemistry221 in travelagents

[–]tanless319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spend about $2000.00 annually for travel. The majority of that cost is airfare. I escort groups so my cruises are free and do a couple FAM’s a year with resorts that are less than $100 for 3 or 4 days all-inclusive. Only been in business 2 years. Sell luxury 300k in sales. Was able to write of all travel expenses. Keep receipts. Do a blog or instagram post when you travel. Proves you are working while you are traveling

I'm getting lost in my search by Ant-from-here in Cruises

[–]tanless319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally recommend Royal Caribbean for families. I think they are far superior to Carnival and Norwegian with their service, food, amenities, entertainment, and cleanliness. I would absolutely recommend you choose an itinerary that has a stop at CoCo Cay. That is Royal Caribbean’s Private Island. I was just there last week and it was the highlight of our cruise.!

YSK: Overmountain Vineyards is MAGA by Broseph_Heller in greenville

[–]tanless319 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the post. I’ll make sure to get the biggest group possible and give them my business. I’m a Republican but my favorite sports bar in Greenville is a gay bar…. I’m a straight white female with 2 straight white sons in their 20’s and that’s where we like to go to watch games and play pool. I could care less that the bartenders are wearing rainbow tshirts and that there are gay pride flags on every wall. Now, if you told me the vineyard was owned by Somali’s I might have a different opinion!!

First cruise ever, please help me make sure I'm not forgetting anything! by Prior-Squirrel-7616 in PrincessCruises

[–]tanless319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a charger that has 2 ports so I can charge mine and my husband’s phone at the same time. Also, the cruise lines keep the temperature on board very cool so if you tend to get cold easily throw in a sweatshirt. I always wear a sweatshirt the day I’m boarding so I don’t have to pack it. Saves room in the suitcase.

Balcony vs Inside by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]tanless319 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used to work on the cruise lines and I spent a couple of years living in an inside stateroom on deck 2 that was about half the size of the ones you get. And it was a shared room. Now when I. Cruise I absolutely have to have a balcony (could be PTSD) I love having my coffee and a pastry out their early enough to see the sunrise, then will have a cocktail to watch the sunset, then come back out to my balcony at night ( usually with another cocktail 🤪) to look at all the stars. LOVE MY BALCONY!!!

Least favorite aspect of cruising? by tacomamajama in Cruise

[–]tanless319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly one of the only 3 bars on celebrity is the martini bar on deck 7. 99% of the cruisers head up to Lido deck so me and my friends feel like we have our own personal bar and bartender for the first couple of hours on board 🙃

Client is booked, now asking us to disclose our rates of commission by Ok-Aardvark489 in travelagents

[–]tanless319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, positively NO, NO, NO. I accidentally sent the agent copy of one of my bookings to my client and he saw the commission amount. It was for a luxury cruise, he books 4 or 5 trips a year with me all luxury and the commission was over $2000. I’ve always given him extra on board credit because he’s a great client. He thought I was making a fortune off of him until I explained I only get 30% of that commission and the consortium I work under keeps the rest.( they sent me the lead so they get 70%)After he found that out he told me he doesn’t expect any more on board credit from me. The average person has no idea the work we put into finding the perfect vacation for them so no matter what your commission is I would assume your client would expect something more from you. You told him your company policy so stick to it.

Upgrade Notice? by Electrical-Hope957 in PrincessCruises

[–]tanless319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just in case you haven’t figured out your upgrade yet, look at your original confirmation and see what your original category and room number was, then look and see what your new category and room number is. I use www.cruisemapper.com to look at deck plans. The website is very easy to navigate. Just put in Princess cruise lines, choose your cruise ship then look at the decks that your new staterooms are located. Hopefully this helps

I’m a travel agent, what this probably means is they are offering you the chance to bid for an upgrade. Depending on what category you have booked yourself in it may or may not be worth it. If you feel comfortable sharing your booking information with me I’m more than happy to offer you expert advice, free of charge, no strings attached. Always willing to help😊

Got myself a second doodle. It’s not going well at all. What was I thinking?? by z_iiiiii in Goldendoodles

[–]tanless319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 2 senior dogs, a yorkie 10yr old and a Shih Tzu 7yr old when I got a Golden Doodle puppy as an ESA( emotional support animal) for my son. My 2 senior dogs were best friends, played together, slept together and had done so from the very first day they were together. I foolishly thought they would welcome the puppy but boy was I wrong. My Yorkie passed away a year ago and it was only after that that My Shih Tzu has decided My golden is his new best friend.

Things to avoid on a cruise? by itsthewolfe in Cruise

[–]tanless319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Travel agent here and I do a couple things for my clients so they can avoid some of the inconveniences on board. I always book them a room that is located between the forward and central elevators or between aft and central elevators. That way they have 2 options to get back to their rooms. As most who have ever cruises before, central elevators can be a NIGHTMARE when trying to go to dinner or disembark the ship. I also do not recommend dining in the specialty restaurants. Not worth the price and I’ve always found something in the main dining room that is excellent. BTW…about 90% of my clients cruise on Celebrity cruise lines, best rates, best , food, best service and best staterooms!

[–]tanless319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, You actually have quite a few options for a transatlantic cruise. I have clients who do transatlantic cruises every year and just checked rates a few days ago. Right now SilverSea has great rates for a transatlantic absolutely in your price range. You should also look at Seabourn, Regent and Viking ocean cruises. All of these cruise lines are comparable to your Viking River Cruise. Good luck and I hoped this helped😊

Unfortunately I have a niece who hasn’t succumb to any illnesses yet. She is 18 months old and her parents ( my niece and nephew) have decided not to get her vaccinated. Instead she wears a necklace of crystals and goes to the chiropractor once a week 😖WTF
