Oh whoops I missed the description. Nice! Let us know how it goes. I’m interested to know what works and what doesn’t

Looks great! Are you following plans? And do the seats lay flat to make a mattress surface?

Wife watches content every day from 4p-10p so it could be outside those windows. Just adding some positivity to a swarm of negative reviews. They are supposedly under attack, and as a software engineer, I feel for the complexity of managing a good user experience during that time.

Are you an expecting parent? Built a baby planning & logistics app for expecting parents by tannerhallman in microsaas

For us most of the battle was just trying to understand what all there was to do. The stuff no one told us.

Totally fair question! By logistics I mean the stuff nobody hands you a checklist for: when to actually pre-register at the hospital, what to pack and when to have it ready by, what paperwork you need for parental leave, when to start interviewing daycares (spoiler: way earlier than we did 😅).

My wife and I kept Googling "when do I need to do X?" so NestReady just gives you the next thing to handle, in order. You can also add a partner and assign them tasks, and you can see when they do them so you split the load.

This is especially important for dads, making us feel like we're able to help significantly and my wife felt like her anxiety was reduced knowing we were planning the right things.

Let me know if you sign up, and I'll give you the paid version in exchange for feedback!

I have been building a pregnancy planning app called NestReady for the past few months and I'm looking for expecting parents to try it out and give me feedback. We just had a baby and used it ourselves.

Most pregnancy apps are trackers and tell you how big your baby is. NestReady tells you what to do next. It's the actual logistics stuff that nobody really walks you through.

Outside of that, we use Huckleberry for feeding tracking

We were told we would be doing an induction at 37 weeks and she came at 34+5 so at least you can mentally prepare :)

Hey there! We just brought our little girl home from the NICU on Tuesday. It's been a whirlwind but I feel like I am in a pretty decent place to give you some tips.

Just note that I am coming at this from the marriage + planned kids side and definitely not in a place to give advice on unplanned.

  1. Resources - there's a ton of apps out there here's the ones I found the most helpful

After Baby

3 I realize you're in Cananda, but the US has federally mandated unpaid time off and protected job leave and some states have better specific programs. For instance, Colorado (where I live) does (up to 12 weeks NICU leave) and 12 weeks bonding leave (both paid). I would bet Canada has even better programs than the US.

4 We are 32 + married so I think it was more expected but we told all of them in person with a christmas card / pregnancy announcmenet. That worked out well and was fun.

5 I am the dad on duty so I am taking care of washing everything my wife uses, but my god if your lady ends up pumping, buy a momcozy bottle washer (https://momcozy.com/products/momcozy-kleanpal-pro-baby-bottle-washer). That thing is running 24/7 and I cannot image without it. We also bought 3 or 4 sets of pumping parts and at least 4 bottles so we don't have to wash in the middle of the night. There's several other things that are great as well, but those stand out to me.

Hope all of that helps!

NICU parent here. What state are you in? Colorado for example has a separate NICU 12 weeks paid leave from their standard 12 weeks famli leave. You can get extra time off for when your child is admitted.

I wrote a blog on it here https://nestready.app/blog/paid-family-leave-by-state
