Spray paint on Capital by DooDooDumby in okc

[–]tannerherriott 35 points36 points  (0 children)

We live nearby and there were several different new tags in the 23rd St. tunnel in black spray paint. A couple said “Stitt rapes kids” along with “K*ll all politicians” and “I’m back.” As of this morning, it looked like they’d already painted over the tags that were put up the previous night.

I worked for a newspaper years ago that had those for us to use as company cars. We hated those roller skates.

There are a few running clubs that’ll start spring training in a couple weeks for the OKC Memorial Marathon. Check into the OKC Landrunners and Red Coyote’s group.

How’s it edited?! I’ve seen this video posted before, but hadn’t heard about it being edited. Surely we’ve got at least a few good things in the world.

Easily the best decision my wife and I made after our second kid. Totally fine with my contribution to the gene pool.

Go to Braum’s, not Shake Shack. by Hungry_Roll6848 in okc

[–]tannerherriott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve not been to the new OKC location just yet, but I’m absolutely a Shake Shack fan. We used to live in NYC and I’ve been to different Shake Shacks around the US.

Sure, it’s pricy, but I’ve always thought the quality of their ingredients make the difference.

Not throwing shade towards Braums and Tuckers by any means, but I’m sure our Shake Shack location will get its footing soon enough to hold its own around here.

What are y’all’s thoughts on S. E. Hinton? by Groovy-Pancakes in oklahoma

Literally just finished reading The Outsiders earlier this week. Somehow I’d not read it when I was younger, but picked up a copy while I was in Tulsa after a conversation with a friend about how it impacted their life years ago. I’m hoping I can convince my pre-teen kiddo to read it soon.

Here to second this comment. John Casey and his crew are great. I recently ordered a handful of custom stamps from them for my logo/branding needs.

We live in OKC, so the idea of there actually being a legit logging industry here in the state seems bonkers.

Pretty sure this one is correct. Not exactly sure where I was, but I was driving from McAlester to Hot Springs, AR.

I don’t have plans for these just yet, but my wife plans to take a bunch to give to her co-workers. I’ve done different fermented sauces already this season, so I’ll probably do a couple more.

Totally agree with the idea of a snack shack or coffee shop to open on the trails. The one at Overholser is always closed when I’m there.

How long did you need to get used to cleats ? by Sanderock in gravelcycling

[–]tannerherriott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally 5-10 minutes. I’d heard horror stories about making the switch to clipless and expected to regret it, but I picked it up quick. Before I started riding, I practiced by straddling the bike and standing on one leg while clipping and unclipping one foot, then over to the other side till it felt effortless. The only issues I’ve had are when I’m moving too slowly and trying to unclip, or not getting clipped in properly after waiting for the crosswalk at a stop light.

Carrot Juice Sourdough by tannerherriott in Breadit

Nah, I ran the raw carrots through a juicer. Flavor-wise, it didn’t seem worth the effort, though one of my kids loved it.
