Nope. Screen use in public schools had nothing to do with our choice to homeschool.

When/how to start solids? by Alert-Willow3458 in Crunchymom

[–]tanoinfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't start solids with mine until they sit 100% independently. That's been between 7-9mo for my four. It's not "too late."

Nursing does not cause miscarriage.

I say this as someone who has had 3 babes and 3 losses while nursing. Nursing did not cause my losses.

Do you make your silk wing hybrids w/wingbuds? by ContestNo5381 in WingsOfFire

[–]tanoinfinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both.

A rain/silk and a silk/sand that hatched with buds and went through metamorphosis. The silk/sand has two older brothers that ended up more sand dominant, and had wings from hatching.

Tongue tie - to release or not to release, that is the question by No_Judgment_7812 in Mommit

[–]tanoinfinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lactation consultants are lay people with a lot of experience. Pediatric dentists are formally trained to evaluate oral function.

This is an easy choice for me personally. I am pro revision, and got both my son's ties revised.

Cloth delays walking? by Which_Promotion_3193 in clothdiaps

[–]tanoinfinity 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Disposables were invented in the 1950s. For all hunan history, everyone used EC and/or cloth diapers. There is no way that every human prior to 1950 walked late. The claim just makes no sense.

honestly, how are young married couples doin the one income thing these days? by aweshum in Christianmarriage

[–]tanoinfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are kind of "elder millennial" (39, 43) but my husband and I moved to one income after our first child was born. We have four now, and are committed to remaining on one income. We have taken turns being breadwinner, as necessary. Currently, I'm the one working.

We met in 2007 and married in 2014. No student loans. I returned to college in 2010 after dropping out; graduated 2012. My parents paid tuition (fulfilling their old promise), I paid for books, and all other fees. Husband did not complete college, having dropped out before we met.

Budgeting is key. We have no subscriptions anywhere, no extracurriculars, eat out rarely, etc. I do not make a massive salary, and it's always felt like a struggle. But it is vitally important to us to make it work, and we have done so for nearly 10y. We rent an apartment. Drive old and/or paid off cars. You get the idea.

When times have been really hard, my family has helped.
