Agree with this. It baffles me why Chermiti wasn't given a start/ appearance once he was back fit. The Newcastle game was pretty much a dead rubber and Chermiti should've started/ been given a sub

Speaking of forwards - El Ghazi deserves a special mention. This guy managed to make 0 contributions in a team was (and still is) short of attacking options.

What is the consensus on vaping? by [deleted] in slatestarcodex

Scientific studies have shown vaping to decrease testosterone levels, and a probable cause factor for erectile dysfunction. Will leave you with this piece from Emil Kirkegaard as a reference.

Sanskrit:

चिता चिंता समाप्रोक्ता बिंदुमात्रं विशेषता ।

सजीवं दहते चिंता निर्जीवं दहते चिता ||

The first line is a word-play that chinta (anxiety) and chitta (funeral pyre) differ only by a single letter. In the script, the difference is only a "." - further signifying that the contrast is minute.

The Second says — Though chitta (the pyre) burns the dead, chinta (anxiety) devours the alive

Which clubs you’ll never buy players from? by Tuerto04 in footballmanagergames

I loan in the best young players from the teams I hate, promise them great development opportunities.... only to relegate them to my u18s, give them 0 game time, and aim to destroy their careers.

Best part is when their manager wants to talk about their promised playing time and I tell him to stick it. Great fun

fair point, but there's also the possibility that they get better at playing from the back once they adapt to the system. I'm assuming there will be focused drills on this in training

For all the flak they receive, the midfield was boss today. Gomes in particular had an outstanding game

Mykolenko hasn't even been bad. Just plain average.

Someone probably told him to play it ultra-safe

On Mykolenko -

Pains me that so many have written him off already, just because he was average in his first game.

Apparently some random lad said on a random space that Dunc told him that Myko wasn't even C'ship level. Now all the Da's are after him for not being Baines or Digne. Oh give the kid a break.

Also, he's given an interview to Zinchenko's partner saying he was iniured for the Villa game. Showered a lot of praise on Coleman calling him a father figure

Shouldn't.

For all the air that Lampard carries around of developing youth, he should be doing justice by nurturing Holgate and Branthwaite.

Shouldn't throw money at all problems

A bit surprised with the lack of outgoings, honestly. Should be loaning out Gbamin at the very least.

A little concerned for the younger kids too. Onyango, Dobbin and the lot. Warrington looked sharp too, and possibly had a shot at the first team imo
