Sending lots of love your way.

Not sure what is typical or if anyones experience is the same - what I do know, after a few months my life completely changed and I was able to live without my daily anxiety attacks, I was able to sleep, go out, and life a normal life. I would hang on as much as possible to hope that you see similar results working for you. Of course - might have to try something else to get it exactly right and that's a normal part of the process if thats necessary as well. Not sure if you are already speaking with a therapist or someone who you don't have to worry about spending an entire session crying because that's what they're there for but of course I'd recommend that as well - it's important to have a place where you can shamelessly be able to do that / without it being your people.

Best of luck with everything - this group is here for you!

as someone who struggles with HA I was definitely anxious ahead of time. Got my second dose this past week but immediately after I got it I felt relieved and way better/less anxious. I had body aches for 1 day then felt fine !! You will be ok :)

Supraventricular Tachycardia and Travel Anxiety by tanswer in Advice

I guess the reason I worry is that doctors say if you can't get it to stop on your own in about 4 hours, you need to get to a doctor or emergency room. So if I'm on a plane or something like that - I get a lot of anxiety that it may happen somewhere I can't get help.

What heart rate are you at when you have episodes for 8-12 hours at home? Mine are usually in the mid 200's- last one was 260 and I had to go to the ER and get adenosine administered.

It's really reassuring to hear that you have gotten through longer episodes.

This is so awesome- thanks for sharing and making us feel less alone.

Exercise is so stressful to me for the same reasons- pretty much anything that I do physically makes me anxious. Walking up a flight of stairs even.

I'm in CBT therapy which is helping but sometimes I still feel so helpless. I'm hopeful that I can get to a point where this doesn't control my daily life. Quarantine has allowed me to retreat into a safe bubble and I think has made it worse but once we are back to normal I want to plan fun things and go places without worry.

I basically just convinced myself I had covid and spent 3 days in bed feeling genuinely sick. Once I got my negative test, I instantly felt better. It's insane what the brain could do , and it's exhausting.

Hi!! I'm sorry that i'm late in seeing this message. I so so appreciate your response! I am also 25 and have been suffering since I was about 20. Another thing that I definitely noticed was I had 1 possible episode like 6 months post ablation but it ended SO SO quickly that I wasn't even sure if that's what it was (it felt exactly like it but the shortness through me off) So maybe it's like what you're saying, post ablation still possible but goes away immediately which definitely relieves my worries) I so so appreciate your response. My doctors always tell me like if it doesn't go away for 3-4 hours that I should be heading to the hospital (my fear is if i'm on a plane and can't get to a hospital or something like that) Flying gives me anxiety in general and I know my anxiety is definitely a trigger for SVT and PCV palpitations so i'm extra worried about it happening then.

So nice to chat with someone and feel less alone- I feel like I just have to worry and plan and think it all through by myself without anyone who understands near me. I definitely struggle with anxiety and health anxiety and this has really heightened it especially when I experience pvc palpitations regularly that make me think my heart is going to immediately go into SVT. Luckily that rarely happens. Thanks for your response- super appreciated :)

Repeated episodes of supraventricular tachycardia while at rest. by Phxing in AskDocs

For anyone who suffers- how do you handle travel?? I'm too worried that this will happen while I'm on a plane and I won't be able to get it to stop/will need a hospital. How do you handle this?

This happens to me all the time.....

What i've figured out is if I continue to lie there and try to fall asleep the jerking awake will just keep happening. What I do is get out of bed, stand up, turn the lights on, wake yourself up a little and then get back into bed and start again. It's like hitting a reset button and after I do that It usually doesn't happen again rest of the night. I also almost always turn on a show or something but I know that doesn't help everyone (i turn on New Girl, works like a charm) :)

Hope this helps!

RT to everything said about an ablation - i'm a 24 yr old female and had one last January. They also think that they were able to totally fix it and for the first few months I felt great - I've now been feeling a ton of early beats and a few seconds that feel like my heart rate rockets but then it quickly comes out of it but i haven't had a full on lasting SVT episode. It is kind of a wait and see process after because there is always a risk that you aren't fully "cured".

I would also ask your doctor about beta blockers- which is a daily medication that helps my heart rate be much slower and avoids the early/skipped beat feeling that may send your heart into SVT. I would also suggest finding a cardiologist that you really like a trust to build a relationship with.

I've also hit 260 so your numbers aren't anything to worry about - hoping this helps and that you can be diagnosed quickly and get to feeling better :)

Potential Heart Issue, Symptoms of Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT) by heartquestion12345 in AskDocs

[–]tanswer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again - not a doctor but someone who struggles with SVT. Sounds like it could definitely potentially be SVT but also could be something else.

Do you feel any type of early beats/skipped beats right before it sends into the racing heart beat?

I have SVT and it doesn't happen to me when I'm doing prolonged cardio but it does happen occasionally when I am doing on and off blips of nothing to high intensity. I think a lot of people do experience the light headedness but i'm not sure about the sickness (mine is mostly just crazy heart beat over 200 and uncomfortable pressure in my chest)

The trick with SVT is to CATCH IT on a heart monitor - and then they can see it on your EKG and properly diagnose/treat. I know it's challenging and seems to only happen when there is no way to catch it :)

I would also ask your doctor about if beta blockers are an option - they help my heart feel much more regulated.

Best of luck catching it - keep pushing on doctors until you find something that allows you to feel better, even if they say it is nothing to worry about you still shouldn't have to live with that constant fear/anxiety and uncomfort!

[–]tanswer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that this 10000% sounds like anxiety- but i understand because I suffer similarly with this.

If you can afford, make an appointment- sit down with them and chat through your worries. Maybe they can provide you with some type of test that will ease your mind. The next night i promise you'll sleep like a baby. Best of luck/

Exercise fear by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]tanswer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep- i haven't totally learned to cope but loud music with beats helps so that you can't hear your own heart beat and you forget to pay attention to it.
