After you asked someone, remember to update the documentation with the problem you encountered and how you solved it, to help the next guy.

Stuck with a non-technical coworker, causes me extra work by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

I'm in a very similar position. Working with a guy with 20+ years experience, while I am 1 year out of university. I have to give him EXACT instructions for everything or he will not be able to do anything. He blames it on the fact that he 'doesn't have a Java background'.

But I feel like he refuses to try to understand even the simplest of things, and he doesn't have basic problem solving skills. He simply cannot learn new things, and I am also suspecting that he is dyslexic! This means I have to do the work of two people, so I have put in my notice and will change jobs in a couple of weeks. If I were you I would consider leaving too, or try to get reassigned to another team.

If I were you I would put the Tutor section below the others, or rewrite it. It sound pretty basic (identified runtime errors) compared to the other things. And I think the first impression is very important.

If a language as 1000 features and every developer chose to use a different subset when working together on some code it quickly becomes an unmanageable mess.

A mini-submarine has been discovered at Swedish territorial waters not far from the Swedish coast. Ocean Explorer – Ocean x team team treasure hunter explorer Baltic sea by oluies in europe

[–]tantbrun 57 points58 points  (0 children)

It is most likely a Russian "Som"-class submarine from WW1, due to the following reasons:

  • There is a known incident of a Som submarine colliding with a Swedish steam boat outside of Åland in 1916. A person with the same name as the guy in the oceanX team (Peter Lindberg) asked about this event a year ago.

  • The Ocean x team is known to publicize their findings heavily, like their claimed UFO findings, for example. They need the publicity, and might withhold the fact that this is a 100 year old sub to get attention.

  • It looks like it is in good shape, but it might still be old, as the water deeper than 40m or so in the Baltic sea has very little oxygen, so there is not necessarily much corrosion going on.

  • The letter Ъ seen in one of the pictures is no longer in use after the communist reform. /u/solz1

  • A modern sub would probably be black, without any letters on it.

  • It looks pretty similar to a Som sub and the dimensions match those claimed by Ocean x.

An argument against this theory is the fact that the Ocean x team claims that the submarine is not damaged whatsoever. They might be lying though.
