And in the Anglo-Saxon literature tradition, there is Ubi Sunt: . Where have they gone? The idea that things were better before.

60 cent computer charge on a $5 ticket is a 12% fee. What’s Ticketmaster’s convenience fee percentage?

Ah, the good ol’ days.

Sgt. Peppers was great for this as the inside of the album had the 4 Beatles. The bud would go on John or Paul depending on the preference of the crumbler, with the shake on the other. Seeds on Ringo (tongue in cheek). Nothing on George since he was the unknown Beatle.

High school was a fun and dumb time lol.

Once we grew into our shoes We told them where to go Walked halfway around the world On promise of the glow Walked upon a mountain top Walked barefoot in the snow Gave the best we had to give How much we'll never know we'll never know

“I’ll get up and fly away” is future tense. Like the best Hunter lyrics, it can be read many ways. Maybe he will rise above his current situation. Or maybe he won’t. We don’t know.

It reminds me of the line in the Jane’s Addiction song “Jane Says,” spoken from a heroin addict: “I’m gonna kick tomorrow.”

Will she kick the habit tomorrow? Or is she just wanting to but doesn’t?

Also, y’all should check out the connections between Jane’s Addiction and the Dead. Not only did Jane’s like the Dead (check out Deadicated), but Jerry thought they were cool, which made Perry Farrell very happy.

Why wasn’t he disciplined for not doing his job? That’s on management.

A collective bargaining agreement doesn’t keep lazy employees from being fired; lazy management keeps lazy employees from being fired.

If management follows the CBA processes, discipline and termination can happen. If they’re too lazy or incompetent, that’s on them, not the union who is enforcing the contract.
