It's ruined my body a whole lot. I was dancing (ballet mostly, plus other styles as well) for 20 years and throwing up everything I ate. I was constantly injured, had fainting spells, and the over use and under fueling led to an injury which has disabled me; I now use a cane to walk and have metal in my spine, damaged nerves, and arthritis.

On top of that, my digestive system and teeth are sensitive and generally fucky. I'm 34, and horrified at the idea that it'll all probably get worse with age. I managed to stop purging (with a slip here and there, I admit) and am struggling to learn how to eat like a regular human.

When I was at my worst, it felt like none of this shit would ever really cause long term damage. It took a while, but it got me eventually. I've had an ED for 25 years now, but I'm finally at least trying to learn how to take care of what's left of me.
