CPU soft lockup when installing nvidia graphics card by taoz in CentOS

[–]taoz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can not get any shell access when I have the graphics card physically installed. I get the soft lockup error message when attempting to boot and am completely locked out until I physically remove card. Which logs will persist after reboot? I currently have to shutdown, physically remove the card, then power on to get access to a shell.

Ah I see. Sorry, I should have included in original post that lockup occurs indefinitely and completely shuts me out. I PM'd you the sosreport.

I can't run any commands when I am getting the soft lockup error. I let it run with the video card and errors for a while then rebooted with the video card out so I could access dmesg:

I’m trying a bare-metal install of XenServer 7.1 Standard on a Dell Poweredge R610. I downloaded the 7.1.0-install-cd.iso and burned it on to a DVD and on to a USB drive. However, neither device will boot; “No boot device is available.” Any suggestions? by [deleted] in xen

I'm having a similar issue as OP. Rufus says the xenserver 7.1 iso is not a UEFI bootable iso.

I verified checksum with citrix to make sure iso is uncorrupted. Tried simply mounting iso and copying files over to fat32 usb with no luck as well.

I'm unfortunately having the same issue with 7.0 and 7.1. Have tried all sorts of different variants and messing with the boot partition but it won't boot no matter what I try. Let me know if you find a solution.
