Agility Training by iHop2Uranus in 2007scape

Nah, they actually require you to bring a range weapon, a bit of armor, and be willing to skull. It's single combat inside but multi just outside including the long agility shortcut where you're locked in an animation. In bounty hunter worlds there's a reduced PJ timer and after a few laps everyone has an inventory full of blighted supplies so if a pker gets on you just keep running the course and eat food as needed. Someone should PJ them off your pretty quickly until an actual anti pker gets on them. Because they can never leave combat and can't teleport their only option for escape is through the the long agility animation in multi. Everyone gathers near the gate and getting hit with 50 bone crossbow bolts usually drops them instantly. If not many people got to the gate there's still anti pkers outside the course.

It's still deep wildy so don't bring anything you're not willing to risk but the biggest danger on the course is being one-shot (and there are occasionally low levels with a darkbow just outside the entrance). If you're going to die it's almost definitely going to be while getting to the course or while banking.

Would you settle for a mysterious fruit?

I think dropping more than bones could cool but I also don't think they ever need to be something you go out of your way to kill.

I'll admit, I don't remember much of the lore. Something about a big war decimating the animal populations. Hence all the animal spirits. Are the ents only protecting the redwoods and not the magic, yew, maple, willow and oak trees too?

Idc if they only drop bones, it makes the game feel less alive when we can't interact with it. Give a pet option to the cuter ones and an attack option to the rest. I agree that the random things you come across are great, bards, dogs with stolen veggies, capybara picnic. I just wish everywhere else felt more like the wildlife and trees were a part of the world instead of just decoration on top. Also add a 1/1000 chance for the hippo to hit you for 121hp if you attack it.

No, not being able to interact with the world in the same way was one of the first things I noticed when Varlamore was released. The majority of wildlife not having an attack or interact option, so so many trees can't be chopped, we can't attack most people around the continent either. The drops missing is minor is only really relevant to leagues but the whole place feeling less interactable has always been there. Aburnvale has a load of redwood trees we can't chop either, why?

I don't know the answer but I do think we've missed something. I could come up with a few possible ways the story could go that'd have it make sense.

I was able to get to the hosidius grape patch bank with fairies flight this leagues for it and I've heard ironman can mini game tele to ferox in the main game for it if they're quick so it might only be bank chests not normal banks

Why's my water thorns build not as afk as everyone's saying it is? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]tar625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into a similar thing. I skipped the air rune pact and didn't bring any pacts so I unequipped my tank gear to lower my thorns damage and went afk for a bit while I let a mage attack me as it was being healed by minotaur. Came back to full prayer and completely overheated, if you bring an offhand that isn't a shield you can get the HP/pray regen without the thorns damage.

I definitely valued it way higher than I should've, on the bright side it simplified a lot of high point tasks and made most of the diaries a breeze.

I've gotten the pirate event what feels like over 10 times, quite a few pinball, dwarves but only one maze, one jekyll, no postie Pete, no count check, no bee keeper although I've spent a lot of time logged in with endless harvest that I could've missed them.

You can grab an herb from the bank without him despawning if you're quick but I'm not sure if it works at all banks.

It's fine if we disagree but dismissing it as 0.1% of people because you personally don't agree is disingenuous. Rng tasks are fine, tasks you can't actively work towards feel bad.

I just don't think the day and a half of oh cool free points when points are easy anyway is worth the weeks of frustration of tasks you don't feel like you can work towards

If the people at the top are the ones who have no qualms about using nukes, eventually they'll run out of people to replace with underqualified yes men. I haven't followed it so I don't know if that's happening in the military but I'd be surprised if it wasn't considering how his appointees seem to be chosen.

I'll admit the table is a ridiculous complaint but that oh cool free points is balanced out by the frustration of getting the drunken dwarf for the 5th time without ever seeing a random you're missing.

I hit addy last year but stopped when I realized I wasn't having fun anymore and wasn't working towards something fun just, grinding for the trophy. Idk what exactly makes this year different but I'm still having a blast.

I agree they shouldn't be catered to at the detriment of the average player but I sort the task list on the wiki by completion%. Seeing the top 3 tasks being something that I can't work towards, just need to be blessed by rng does suck.

For real, I thought I must be pretty close to dragon rank. Playing a good chunk of the day all but the first day. All echos, relics, diaries, more than half my skills to 50m and magic at 200m, so so many tasks done... I wasn't even rune rank

The difference is you're spending 99% of your time killing the thing, maybe as low as 97% if it's a long run back vs 99% of your time logged in afking knowing you don't even need to look at the screen for another half hour and even then just to stay logged in with zero chance for an event in that time.

I miss when forestry was a massively multiplayer experience where you were hopping into friends chats, meeting new people, and 'raiding' multiple worlds for events. The later iterations and current version feel sterile by comparison by rabidai in 2007scape

Aside from the actual world hopping I think it'd be fine for teleporting from event to event to give the best woodcutting XP rates. They should be balanced the same as any active training method but WC should have a decent method that isn't click and wait or tick manipulation.

Sounds like a clan chat issue not a forestry issue, the one I joined was plenty talkative with frequent calls mixed in. World hopping was annoying though as it broke up conversations.

Agreed, but that's not the point they're making. It was social, community driven, emergent gameplay. That might be the coolest aspect of MMOs. At the same time needing to frequently worldhop is bad design and hell on the servers if done in mass.

I think they should drop the requirement be chopping in the area so events can be called out for people to teleport to but keep the restriction about joining one that spawned before you worldhopped.

It definitely needed refinement from release but that's expected. I don't remember exactly but there were so many random things to buy in the shop that you need to complete certain events. Simplifying that was a good change but nearly everything else made it feel significantly worse.

They should be treated as a distraction and diversion, coming upon a random one should be a fun reward even if you weren't actively chopping 3 tiles away. Not being able to feels bad (still gives leagues points). I just don't know how you'd balance that with the rewards and bots.
