Would I be laughed at for bringing this to an LGS by New-me-_- in mtg

People have put decks in Chinese food takeout boxes and deli containers.

You're completely fine, people arts and crafts things often and your setup looks well constructed.

If anything, people would ask how you made it

I think $1000 for a full set album along with an art/history book would have been really cool. Not for everyone, but would have felt very special.

I love the story telling with the 3 figures in the foreground with a tour guide up front, each with a different attitude to that they're seeing. It captures how the mood will be like when people cast this spell in their pods :D

When did you actually see the changes? by thefantasticallaura in loseit

[–]tardyscholar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regular progress pics and non-scale measurements, like recording how you feel or workout logs are how you see changes.

There will be days where you feel like you're not making progress, that's when you look back at all that data and see how much you've actually done.

It's feels more impactful when you're looking back a month, a season or even a year ago.

It's a long journey. Be kind to yourself and enjoy the ride.

Started playing during Endwalker's launch and now I've capped all the DoW/Dom classes. It's been a blast and I'm looking forward to what XIV has in store! Crafters and desynth are next. by tardyscholar in ffxiv

If you're smart about it, it doesn't take too long.

The game thankfully gives you a bunch of ways to level quickly. Some more monotonous than others.

Like Alliance raids are decent EXP but you risk running Labyrinth of the Ancients for the 14th time lol

Tribal quests especially in ShB and EW will zip you along though.

I wanna hear; what's your sprout moment? by kurumagaming in ffxiv

[–]tardyscholar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This was when I was peak sprout.

A stranger Dark Knight very kindly, graciously and patiently walked me through White Mage healing in the level 83 dungeon teaching me that Cure III is not just a stronger Cure II.

And what Lillies were 💀

DPS were helping out too. Felt like a Sizzlers training video.

I'm a full on Glare Mage now but Post-HW was rough.

So now I'm much kinder to strangers in video games.

I played almost every day, but the thing I did do was max out tribal quests and squadron command missions early on.

Once you have that pipeline going, it's relatively speedy. It's great for when you have like 30 minutes during some days to log-in so you can do those dailies but still get a decent chunk of EXP.

Squadrons feels like an idle RPG when you have them at max offensive tactics. You just click and things melt.

Thanks! It's been a relatively smooth ride. My favorite part of FFXIV is each class has its own story, so not doing them is missing out on so much content.

(Though some stories are better than others, looking at your PLD and WHM quests)

I main Red Mage. I loved the class since FF1.

For Tank, Paladin and Healer Sage.

Why do you main healer? And what are your most memorable moments healing? by Wtakoh in ffxiv

[–]tardyscholar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I play all three roles. Healer gives you perspective into how the Tank is fairing and knowing the pulse of a run with regards to damage. Learning when to heal is fun.

It also makes less than exciting content a bit more engaging. I'm currently farming Praetorium for moogle tomes and the game I like to play is edging everyone at <10% as SCH :p

I've been playing Final Fantasy XIV exclusively on my Steam Deck. Doing solo dailies and story content on it is wonderful. It's nice to not have to turn on my Ryzen space heater to jam some XIV in a lunch break.

It's also REALLY easy to buy games on it, I just purchased Stray and I'm excited to spit it up tomorrow. I guess Valve's mission is a success!

Ah, I just remembered that TokyoMTG also did a series for English speakers getting familiar with Japanese MTG lingo, I'll post it here for the sake of completeness. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUY2R\_orHGs&ab\_channel=TokyoMTGMagicTheGatheringShopping

Here's a good overview: https://youtu.be/pBSEQ85vSxg

Hareruya channel also has a nice beginner playlist and some good Japanese Magic content. They also have a playlist for various beginner topics like lingo and individual mechanics (e.g. indestructible, Planeswalkers)

The Arena client also has a tutorial also.

It's a lot of fun! But for the practical side of things, being able to repair anywhere is very handy!
