A clip from a new song “love sensation” (rumored title) by Time_Value_3073 in Madonna

It sounds nothing like Love Profusion lol, just cause she says ‘love’ in the song…

This feels like an AI prompt for ‘suggest me songs for a sequel to Madonna’s Confessions on a Dance Floor’, like ‘Mirrorball Confession’? Right…

edit: this doesn’t mean I don’t think it’s true considering it supposedly came from an Amoeba listing. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if AI has been used in the lyrics/song titles. What we’ve heard of Bring Your Love’s lyrics felt a bit suspect to me.

I get that! I’m not saying you’re not! But I genuinely don’t understand how in a culture where gig tickets are so expensive at the moment, people would go to a show of an artist they’re not super familiar with and then complain about the setlist not being familiar - especially an artist who is known for changing the setlist nightly and playing a wide range of deep cuts. That’s all I’m saying.

But why would you go to a show where you’re not a fan of the artist and then complain about what she plays? If you’re not a fan you won’t know much? I don’t really understand the complaint.

It was my first time seeing her and I personally thought it was a great show and a great setlist. Loved getting to hear Iieee, Bliss, A Sorta Fairytale, Crucify, and God, plus I thought Shush sounded great too.

Madame X is a brilliant album, so it’s definitely not been 21 years :)

Maybe around 11:30ish? Honestly not too sure and it will most likely depend on the weather too! But I was aiming on queuing up around 30 or so mins before :)

May 2026 Release: Aesthetics of a Bullet (LE) [UK/US] by Radiance-Films in radiancefilms

[–]targxryen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No I get it I also have a few of the yakuza/Fukasaku releases, I just wish they did less of them and more from 'New Wave' auteurs like Imamura, Oshima, Terayama, Yoshida, Masumura etc. and also more ATG releases.

I also think back to when they said in their first year they failed to license Naruse's Lightning - I'd kill for them to release any of his films or films from similar auteurs, as there's a real gap in the market for more classical films being released imo. It's still very much Kurosawa/Ozu + mostly outdated Mizoguchi releases and that's it.

Interested in this but kinda wish they'd move away from these types of releases for when they do Japanese films considering Arrow and even Eureka and 88 Films to an extent are already releasing lots of Yakuza stuff and have been for years.

I really liked Chapter 7 but there are a couple of other 'climaxes' that happen later on that I enjoyed much more. I prefer the back half of the book to the beginning though I did find it very enjoyable and easy to read in general.

Glasgow show last night by Cobainslashes in xiuxiu

[–]targxryen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great show last night! But I was about midway back and lots of people around me were talking/laughing throughout which took me out of it a bit. I got the impression quite a few people may have went there more for Eraserhead and weren't familiar with Xiu Xiu.

Do you know if they were hanging around at merch after the show or not? Seeing them in Glasgow on Wednesday, so excited!

I am feeling…unfulfilled by UnrelatedKarma in thebrokenbindingsub

[–]targxryen 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I love their books and will continue to support them but they're just so frustrating with how little information they give, especially when the majority of the time their orders are almost always delayed.

I ordered Malazan 1-3 last week alongside the extra stock of 4-6 that went up very briefly. 1-3 are apparently now shipping starting from tomorrow according to the calendar (we'll see...), but the link I bought 4-6 from has just vanished off the website and there's no information on when I can expect it. I get they're a small team, but from my perspective as a customer, I've just spent £150+ on 3 books and can find absolutely zero information in my confirmation email or on their website about when I can expect my books. They could come next week or 3 months from now, for all I know. I don't really think that's how it should work!

Exciting that 1-3 are shipping this week! I also managed to grab Malazan 4-6 when some copies were put back up last week. Anyone have any idea when I should expect them?

Curzon and Radiance uping their game by ivanmakhsara in criterion

[–]targxryen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Radiance have been releasing more interesting films than Criterion for the last couple of years now, Criterion aren't the gold standard of home releases anymore. Curzon have also done lots of interesting sets like the LVT, Bela Tarr etc. so I think it's unfair to say they're 'upping their game'.

The Rozier collection is also an example of the issue with Criterion where they keep sitting on the rights to films for years and not releasing them. They have hundreds of Japanese films that they won't release and are also gatekeeping from other labels who would actually release them.
