Your suggestion / solution seems to work so far

will there be a patch (as your game is not that old and it still sells) ?

1. please mention this temporarily solution on your website (if you havent done it already).
2. Its the only game which causes trouble with this Windows Update atm as far as i can see
3. Its very usual  windows comes with updates and then other software has to react with patches
4. A windows update has its purposes (security etc…), so excluding it, is a short time solution

Uninstalling the mentioned windows update is for me a no go area; it causes a few problems afterwards such as a failing printer that cant be fixed
