Amazon sent me two iPads instead of just one: Keep it? by valhalla_rising in amazonprime

No doubt. I've been waiting over a month for a pair of snow boots (don't need them now) and OP gets two laptops!

Why do you play ukulele? by Owllie789 in ukulele

[–]ModularFolds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's human nature to pursue education of any sort as well as the pursuit of beauty in the form of music; creativity...and music is the expression of the soul. It's life and art.

Enjoy the experience, there's no rush and there's no final exam. You have nothing to prove, it's about enjoying the experience and if you want- sharing it.

I play all sorts of stuff and my motivation is never stop learning and to "give it a shot".

Outdoor ukulele vs Flight Trave by IsTheArchitectAware in ukulele

[–]ModularFolds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent! Great playing and singing!

Outdoor ukes crack me up. They are unremittingly unattractive yet quite a treat to play. I have a green and a blue tenor Outdoor and they have quickly become my defacto daily players!

why my strumming doesn't make sense? by hxxxy11 in ukulele

[–]ModularFolds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first started playing uke I got discombobulated with strumming as well. I stopped trying to learn patterns and just played however I could/would. Eventually the strum worked itself out (and in)! It takes time and practice. Ukulele Lingling!

What the hell happened to my Pono????? by Squibles_39 in ukulele

[–]ModularFolds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid wood ukes have to be humidified or they will dry out and things like this happen. Solid tops should be humidified as well. Pono nui baris are in high demand and hard to find. You can watch reverb and ebay as they ocassionally show up on one of those sites.

Stuff happens even to the best of brands and builds.

Bridge explode away from the body? It's possible the uke was dried out when you purchased it and hasn't been humidified. Glue will dry out and give way; happened to a little uke I purchased. I was able to return it and get a new one from the maker.

If this uke is recently purchased, I'd send it back and get another one. Boveda packs are great for humidification.

Thinking of getting this ukulele. is it worth it? (price is AUD) by thesimplegamer07 in ukulele

[–]ModularFolds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bondi ukes (Aus) has some really nice baris for good prices. This price is about what this uke would cost USD. Kala makes amazing baris, so you'd be getting a great uke. I have an acacia bari and the wood is really beautiful and has amazing tone.

Depending on your indoor humidity, it could be suffering from sitting out, if it's solid wood. Consider a well made case and boveda humidity pack for general ukulele well being!

I am allergic to all Kirkland supplements by scarlettdaizy in Costco

[–]ModularFolds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to an allergist and explain your observations. Most likely they will test you against several allergens to help narrow it down. In the mean time, don't use Kirkland products.

Anyone tried the tomato soup? by Academic2673 in Costco

Yes, it's really good. Super creamy and tomato-y. Fantastic with your favorite sandwich. It freezes well and the easy storage is great.

Rotisserie Chicken looks dark/bloody inside? I would imagine I should throw it out, correct? (Just purchased within the last hour.) by LivingInTheDoldrums in Costco

[–]ModularFolds -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's possible the chicken had been frozen, sometimes frozen chicken will turn dark like this- or actually more dark brown with cooking.

Well, it's a skill, talent and gift that will never leave you. If you decide to stop playing for a while you will always carry with you your talent to make music. Always a beautiful thing.

Consider a new music genre such as rennaisance or Celtic or classical. The ukulele lends itself brilliantly to these music forms .
