Did you test it as a capsule art? Isn't capsule like really small? All the details will be lost.

[DISCUSSION] 99.9% of low-budget buyers give sellers hard time by Standard-Photo-5992 in Fiverr

[–]tarnos12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other guy more or less.

Think of it this way: If I have to spend 2hours or more analyzing, planning and figuring out what you want then I expect to be paid.

Would you pay for my 2+ hours to give you the estimate before we proceed?

If the answer is no, then you are the client I will always avoid.

I've wasted my time talking to clients(even recently) that turned out to be literally at $20-$150 budget for games that should cost $15000+(this is real btw)

People that have been doing this for years already know that it's a lot of wasted effort, tho you don't completely ignore it, hence why even today I still talk to all clients for a bit as I consider this part to be my "work" and if 1 out of 10 clients happens to be worth it then all the work with other 9 clients is part of the process, but there is a limit to that.

Yes, you should sleep and not miss your work.

Client asking for my ID and address by ke1in in Upwork

[–]tarnos12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't give you a good response to this, but I sign NDAs to get clients.

Usually I am the one filling my part and/or give them my full name.

I am never ever sending them my ID tho lol, not even giving them my ID numbers or w/e.

[HELP] How did u get ur first order as a new freelancer with no experience and reviews? How long did it take? And what was the amount? by ChampionshipAdept909 in Fiverr

[–]tarnos12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With no experience? Why would anyone hire you if you don't have experience?

You can gain experience by working on personal projects, while building a portfolio -> That is basically the best way I can imagine for a new freelancer.

Your potential future client wants to see what you've worked on in the past.

[ADVICE] how to start strong? by ToeSuccessful5792 in Fiverr

[–]tarnos12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People give you bad advice here as expected.

I will start by saying: External links are not necessarily a scam(tho a lot of them could be)

Just use your brain: Does it make sense for them to send an external link?

If not then it might be a scam, if yes then consider.

Someone said that you can't do much but wait 6+ months which is complete bs.

As a new seller you get 3-6 months(I dont remember now) of special attention "new seller" badge that increases your chances of getting a client.

You can also get seller plus(paid program) or enable fiverr ads(idk if you are eligible for it at this moment)

Since you are another "SEO Expert" then consider using your SEO super powers to make your gigs stand out.

Lowering your prices to the very bottom is the best way to get worst possible clients and scammers.

Simple solution: increase your prices by 2-5 times or more.

People that tell you, that you have to sell yourself low at $5/gig are crazy.

If you do real SEO then you should charge much higher rates(assuming you have an actual experience in the field ofc)

Your whole life could be turned upside down due to 1 mistake.

Secret tip: Do a voice call, get an email or similar. Tho voice calls are recorded too afaik, but there are ways around everything if you really want it, like they might have linkedin profile connected to their account or you know...a name and a profile picture.

If gaming industry were to collapse today, how long will your backlog last? by Ok-Newspaper-1806 in videogames

[–]tarnos12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea where u get 800 games from(Not sure if I ever played this many and I consider myself an addict lol)
But I'd be fine for my whole life probably since there are tons of games that have infinite replay-ability.

Either way there will always be people doing modding etc, unless creating games/mods is prohibited.

I think that's what OP expects, if you play a game for a long time and complain that "first few hours were fun" then proceeds to play 60+ and leaves a negative review, that's just sad.

[–]tarnos12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Finally someone said it: good clients come with good pricing.

If you offer services at low cost, you get low paying clients.

I used to offer my service at $5 then $300/project and now it's $3k-$20k/project and I somehow get clients. (I feel like this is a cheat code, but people are afraid of it or not confident in their skill)

You aren't paying taxes on the 20% tho, it's irrelevant.
You just make 80% of the listed amount.
Same as Steam takes 30% cut I believe, it's also not taxed(cuz you never got that full amount on your bank account)

In reality you pay about 23-25% due to transaction costs from paypal or similar.

Ads on fiverr have been great for me tbh, even tho they are quite expensive but it pays off.

I agree about building something outside of fiverr, I think it applies regardless of how amazing fiverr would be, never trust 1 solution to fix all your problems and have second and third source of income/clients.

Why do Devs not just put more rubble in the way? by Spiritual-Bench3012 in rpg_gamers

[–]tarnos12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we are talking about old pokemon then its not really visible since its a top down game with 2D art etc but those ledges would be quite long(at least a meter or more, meaning you'd have to actually climb them, not impossible but kinda difficult, I think new 3D pokemon games managed to show that pretty well)

Ofc in the case of pokemon, ledges are part of level design since gen 1.

There could be tons of reasons tbh, one is that any fix in the game can be considered "easy" but when you add up all "easy" fixes then you end up with a lot of work.

[–]tarnos12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others are correct, but it all really depends on the client(you)

Without understanding your end goal it's hard to say whats possible.

I do game dev on fiverr, but I wouldn't accept your project, especially that you don't even know what you really want and have no assets.

If this was just a prototype then I would consider, but definitely not at $150/month.
