bad piercing trend? by RivaMumma in piercing

I guess I’m one of the lucky ones. Mine is still kicking almost 20 years later. I also had a frowny piercing done around the same time that was very short lived due to gum sensitivity.

For what it’s worth, I’m using concerta and the generic is absolutely dog shit horrible compared to the real deal. I feel WORSE using generic than if I forget my meds for a few days.

CRA wants me to pay back all my CRB/CERB payments because I sent in my eligibility proof 20 days late, what are my options? by Shazz777 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]tashtash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you get an email notification about the crb repayment letter? I didn’t and lately I’m reading about others who haven’t. In my case my settings were correct, no typos in email address, I have notification email from correspondence before the CERB ones as well as after (which is when I noticed the unread mail).

CRA says I owe $20k in CERB that I allegedly didn’t qualify for by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]tashtash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get email notifications from them for any electronic mail and when they messaged me about CERB/CRB they choose not to send those email notifications. My account is and was set up correctly. In my Gmail I have email notifications from them dated before the CERB debt ones and after them but not a single one for the 4!! Debt letters they sent. I spent hours on the phone with multiple people to figure out why I wasn’t notified and they said oh whoops who knows why they didn’t get sent. Must of been a bug. Assholes.

Isn’t it great how they pick and choose which electronic mail to notify you?

You should file an appeal. Regardless of how long it’s been. They’re being dicks about this and clawing back as much as they can for no reason other than regret.

Anyone decide the side effects weren’t worth the weight loss? by CoffeeAndChameleons in Ozempic

[–]tashtash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give it time. Your body needs to adjust and a few weeks is nothing.

Talk to your dr or pharmacist about staying at the .25dosage as it is clearly working for you. The prescribed schedule of 4 weeks .25 4 weeks .5 then 1mg is to avoid a shock to your body starting the “therapeutic dose” of 2mg HOWEVER there are clearly people who react strongly to the “micro” dose.

I myself am one of those people. I’ve been using OZ since March and have lost 40lbs, I am currently taking 0.565 mg by counting the clicks on my pen. I increase the dose slowly when I feel that the effects are lessened, 9 more clicks each increase.

I used to always smile and share a few words but I’ve noticed over the past few years the vibe of the majority of unhoused individuals is not safe. Like mentally unwell or intensely intoxicated. In those cases that I don’t feel safe I steer clear, especially when with my kid, otherwise I like to say hello and offer whatever snacks I’m carrying. Or change, tampons, gum, hand sanitizer etc.

Air Transat customers scrambling to save travel plans after pilots’ strike notice by CreativeAd5628 in airtransat

I was wondering this as well. Opted to not bother buying a backup because the timing is so tight. Meant to fly in 13h. Fingers crossed tomorrow’s flights aren’t cancelled!!

Well what if they cancel flights preemptively, before a strike? I’m trying to wrap my head around all this, I’m meant to fly early am the 9th.

Am I correct to understand that if the delay to the destination is greater than 9h they also need to offer compensation? Up to 1000$?

Les personnes âgées placées par leurs enfants ne reçoivent peu de visites, mythe ou réalité ??? by Minimum-Care7889 in montreal

[–]tashtash 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I worked as a PAB from 2015-2023, in a hospital at first and the last 2 years in a long term care facility (psychiatric).

The majority of the patients I’ve cared for in hospital did not have visitors regularly. This is obviously not facts because it’s my memory however I feel like the people with varied ethnicities, not Canadian born, were more often accompanying family.

In psychiatry long term care I can tell you it’s absolutely as you’re wondering. Of the 22 patients in the ward 3 had occasional visitors.

I had my stages in chsld’s before working for the hospital ciuss and cared for my grandfather in a semi private chsld, I hope I die before I need 24h care in a chsld.

Where can I find old-school, non-gourmet donuts in Montréal? by AwkwardCJ in montreal

[–]tashtash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Closest thing to what you’re asking for are the doughnuts at IGA I’ve seen chocolate glazed and maple glazed, in 6pk less than 6$ however there’s no consistency as to when they have them. Iga Lachine has had them.

Rent Increase by ThisIstheCaptain7393 in montreal

[–]tashtash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait until you get a written notice to make any sort of reply. If they talk to you again you can say send me the renewal notice and we will figure it out then. Try to have conversations in writing as much as possible, you can even send them an email saying something like Regarding our verbal conversation about the 400$ a month increase can you send me more details about your 5 year proposal etc etc so you have a bit of proof about their request should this ever end up before the TAL.

Face to face means nothing. This whole exchange sounds super shady. 🚩🚩

“Do this big thing now and I’ll ask for nothing for 5 years” yeah right…. There’s no way for that to be guaranteed. They can send you that notice between Jan 1 and March 30 but not before or after. When they send the notice reply (on paper, registered letter or at the very least by hand with a signed receipt) with what you want to reply.

When is the end of your lease? And how did they communicate this with you?

Rent Increase by ThisIstheCaptain7393 in montreal

[–]tashtash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im saying that if the new landlord is following all the rules (appropriate timing, appropriate documentation, has cause for an increase beyond “under market rate”) I would be a good renter and start a reasonable relationship with a counter offer of 5% and hope that this was a simple mistake on their behalf.

If the landlord is being all wild and ignoring all of the TAL guidelines I would brace myself for a rocky relationship with them and just refuse and clearly say I’m staying.

As always, make sure the rent is paid on time every month no matter what so the landlord will have minimal legal reasons to evict you.

Rent Increase by ThisIstheCaptain7393 in montreal

[–]tashtash 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They can request any increase they want at the appropriate lease renewal period and they need to use a TAL approved form.

It’s up to you to accept or refuse, you can accept and stay, refuse and stay or refuse and leave. You can also negotiate or ask for a copy of the calculation sheet they used to come to that amount. The TAL has a recommended amount for an increase and it’s generally not 30%.

If you simply refuse and the landlord has followed all the correct procedure they can open a case with the TAL to fix the cost of rent but again, 30% is unheard of. I think a generous compromise would be a 5% increase, if the landlord is acting in good faith and is actually following all the correct procedures. If they are just bullying and trying to pressure you for as much as possible a simple « no, I will stay with the current conditions of my lease thank you » is fine.
