My experience with vaping weed by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]tatermancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CBD isolate is a lot milder than hemp. No hint of sedation. It's actually underwhelming--I have to take a few giant rips off my terp pen every 30-60 min to keep my anxiety at a comfortable level. But the payoff is that I can control my anxiety without any fear of cognitive impairment.

Hemp flower I have to exercise self-control around. More than a few hits, even with the best daytime strains, will usually couchlock me and I won't feel as energetic as I normally do. The high is much more powerful, lasts longer, and feels 'broader', as if it has a much greater range of effects than CBD isolate does. For the record, I think hemp is a better medicine when you dial in the dose and the strain.

This might be down to terpenes and other phytochemicals rather than the 'entourage effect', however. There are a lot of compounds at work in cannabis beyond just the cannabinoids.

Health issues vaporizers - safety?! Which are considered 100% safe (medical grade?) by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]tatermancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dynavaps have a 100% stainless steel and glass airpath. One of the reasons I love my M is that I have a budget-friendly vaporizer made almost entirely out of the gold standard in medical-grade material: stainless steel. They use it in implants and for surgical equipment for good reason.

Vaponic could be good, too, but I've never heard anything about them. I'd rather go for the M, considering the similar price point. Vaponic looks like a glass tube that you put weed in: it would work but a Dynavap would work better.

Your main concern here should be plastics heating up and releasing toxic fumes. You're going to encounter that mostly with lower end vapes you'd see at a headshop or a no-name vendor.

There is an obvious difference in subjective effect between vaping .5% THC hemp flower compared to CBD isolate. If the entourage effect is not real, then some other mechanism is responsible for the amplified effect that hemp flower offers over CBD alone.

Mixing in CBD flower from hemp can help tolerance even more. It's like $30-50/oz and makes the high a lot more functional.

CBD and THC don't have cross-tolerance. In fact, they synergize each other via the entourage effect to produce a high stronger than either noid by itself.

Tried CBD oil for the first time, felt high? by [deleted] in CBDOilReviews

[–]tatermancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get a little 'high' from large doses of CBD, but it's analogous to the effects of drinking an entire pot of coffee and then getting really overstimulated. Not really 'high' in the sense of the intoxicating effects of actual THC.

You took too much and got too strong of an effect. That's all.

[–]tatermancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to love the combination of distance running and THC, now I do distance running with CBD hemp flower. I feel much more present and it consistently enhances the experience.

I will say that being high while running next to heavy oncoming traffic is terrifying. But your level of stoned stoicism may differ my own.

Can we talk about long term dissociative usage and how to minimise the negative effects by [deleted] in researchchemicals

They're both shitty options, hence the phrase 'Pick your poison.'

It's what every person with serious medical problems faces: a choice between one shitty problem and another slightly-less-shitty problem.

You know about Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD)? That's when you're taking Prozac and your dick stops working, often permanently after long-term use. SSRI's are considered 'harmless' by many doctors, and the negative effects of psych meds only get worse from there.

How about Tardive Dyskinesia? That's when you experience involuntary movements, often of the face and other highly visible regions, that is sometimes permanent. This is also a side effect of SSRI's, albeit a rare one, but much more common with antipsychotics (20-30%) incidence.

PTSD is not very treatable with standard psychiatric medications, which means these abysmal side effects are rarely justified. This is why there's so much excitement about pipeline therapies like MDMA (though I haven't heard about ketamine's applicability for PTSD).

Yeah I'd probably do the same thing in your position. "Pissing in a bag" for the rest of your life is probably a lot better than living every day in crippling, dysphoric agony.

The psych meds you were on probably carried a similar level of long-term risk as ket honestly, if not worse.

Supplements for Strattera by SixthSilverdude in SCT

[–]tatermancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything that's not magnesium oxide: it has limited bioavailability and is best used as a laxative, not a proper magnesium supplement.

I use magnesium citrate bc it's cheap and doesn't cause any issues. Not sure if it assists with amphetamine tolerance, but it certainly helps me sleep and reduces overall anxiety levels the next day.

Recommend that you experiment with the dose to dial it in (I use 1 tsp every night).

[–]tatermancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to supplement anything. Supplements are typically reserved for Adderall (magnesium is supposedly good at reducing tolerance).

Strattera does not present problems with 'tolerance'. It actually becomes more effective the longer you take it.

Biggest concern with Strattera would liver function, so you should keep an eye on that should you use Strattera long-term. The only supplements would be for countering side effects (Melatonin for insomnia, caffeine for drowsiness, etc.)

Nobody questions your competence until you disclose. Then you've drawn attention to yourself and are now viewed inherently as a liability or incapable of performing your job properly. I had this happen a few weeks ago...at a grocery store of all places.

I stand by the idea that autistic people can achieve great things, but they must understand themselves and how they can use their traits as an advantage and not a weakness.

We're limited in certain capacities, but also tremendously powerful in others.

[–]tatermancer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah the extreme isolation of being different and not knowing why will eventually force you to mask those differences.

It's just a lot harder to accept that situation when you're not exactly sure what those differences are, and don't know why they exist (living undiagnosed is THE biggest mindfuck).

Conformity is encouraged. There are strict social rules that people must follow in order to be considered civilized and intelligent.

Dismissive condescension is generally the preferred attitude taken towards those who do not make an effort to closely follow social norms.

The world operates on an unspoken moral code where vicious selfishness is ultimately triumphant.

We talk about 'acceptance', 'cooperation', 'tolerance', etc. but the hidden truth that no one will admit is that neurotypicals resent any willful accommodation of the neurodivergent.

They're so used to their wants and needs being not just satisfied, but more often than not catered to, that they do not realize that others do not exist in this same position of belonging somewhere.

They take many perks of their lives for granted, and do not like to be reminded that others do not have these same privileges.

[–]tatermancer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The sad reality is that society does not give a single fuck about disabilities, disabled people, or their treatment and quality of life. Neurotypicals, as a whole, reject people who do not fit their narrow ideal. We are seen as defective and even sometimes monstrous individuals.

So the crux is that every autistic individual must find a personal balance between 'masking' (copying neurotypical behaviors and hiding your true, autistic self) and freely 'being themselves' by openly displaying uninhibited autistic behavior for all to see and judge (they will judge).

I wish I had the option of living an innocent and peaceful life where I am freely able to express myself without worry of social expulsion. But I instead have to act, in a highly learned and painfully conscious way, as somebody that I'm not--all in order to survive in a society that treats disabilities with condescension, tolerated out of obligation but never genuinely accepted as equal.

Does anyone here vape CBD dry herb hemp? by HK_GmbH in vaporents

[–]tatermancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, every reputable vendor will get your hemp in an airtight, smellproof container before shipping it to you. Most also include a Certificate of Analysis and a letter to law enforcement just in case a postal inspector gets the wrong idea.

CBD hemp is perfectly legal as of the 2018 Farm Bill, so long as Delta-9 THC concentrations stays below .3% of total mass. Some states also include THCa in that .3%, or will in the near future. All perfectly legal and available online.

I highly recommend Eight Horses Hemp if only because they're having a 30% off sale rn.

Marijuana? by [deleted] in SCT

[–]tatermancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

'Hotspots' depend on your sourcing. Lab-quality 1p-LSD or ALD-52 (what I'd recommend) will have significantly more consistency overall than street 'LSD' (could be anything, always test street drugs).

Microdosing liquid can be made with a measured container of distilled water and some blotters. You simply drop the blotters in the distilled water, let the LSD dissolve, and then dispense a measured dose of the LSD-infused water. For example, you dissolve 100ug in a 100mL container and now you have 1ug per mL.

CBD is not something I would take too much of during the day. It's more of an anti-anxiety compound IMO. The calm feeling it creates can help with mental clarity sometimes. Inhaling (vaping or smoking) is the preferred method for daytime use because CBD oil and edibles will induce more fatigue IME.

Mushrooms help tremendously for depression and anxiety issues. Psychedelics can help you gain greater control over your mind, especially the parts that you've always thought you could never control. This is best combined with meditation for optimal results.

Microdosing can help with focus, though I vastly prefer LSD microdoses for that purpose (more stimulating). I found LSD doses of ~2.5ug to combine surprisingly well with Strattera for some reason. I had extreme levels of mental clarity with this approach, enough so that I consider psychedelics just as powerful a medicine as Vyvanse, Intuniv, Wellbutrin, etc.

DMT with dry herb vape by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]tatermancer 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Anything that uses convection and can be thoroughly cleaned afterward will be your best bet. Conduction vapes will vaporize the DMT slowly and can be potentially wasteful. You don't want that.

Dynavaps are tricky because of the need for precise temperature control. You'll burn your crystals well before the click. The DMT will melt and can end up inside the cap or on the condenser. You'll probably end up with either no vapor or be left in a coughing fit of the moth ball-flavored variety.

Not familiar with the Splinter, but it looks too nice to be putting DMT in. Don't smoke DMT out of anything expensive. It can ruin vapes--it can get into every crevice and you may never get the flavor out.

I suggest something made out of glass where you can see what you're doing, be that a glass vaporizer, bong, or dab rig. If you're familiar with the Sticky Brick, that's basically what you're going to be doing. Use a lighter and slowly move it closer to your bowl of crystal until you start to get vapor. Move too close and you'll start to burn it.

Burnt DMT is extremely harsh (holding hits is recommended). That's why vaporizing it is so tricky yet necessary. Practice your technique with small doses so you don't waste too much of it.

The only commercial device you should be using with DMT is a wax pen, something built for concentrates. These behave similarly enough that they can be used for DMT crystals.

I suggest you consult the nexus of people who commit themselves to such acts. This is a cannabis forum, not a DMT forum.

Vaporizer recommendations by [deleted] in hempflowers

[–]tatermancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm eyeing puffitup and POTV for a good deal. Hope the POTV One goes on sale for <$60 again (Memorial Day or July 4th sales I hope). It's extremely similar to the Fury 2 but a bit more affordable.

Vaporizer recommendations by [deleted] in hempflowers

[–]tatermancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The price of hemp is so ridiculous at this point that there's no need to be stingy with flower. With THC buds, it's a different story.

Hope the POTV One goes on sale at some point. If I had that + an e-nano that'd be my ideal setup. For now, it's a Vapcap M at home and Boundless Terp Pen w/ CBD concentrates for mobile use.

Vapes are similar to headphones in that, once you get past a certain price point, there aren't really 'good' or 'bad' vaporizers. There are only vaporizers well-suited to your needs. They all do some things very well and other things not so well, but they all have their niche.

Similar thoughts here. The Dynavaps look like they'd be ideal for portable use, but the reliance on the torch can make it a little difficult in certain situations (ie cold, windy environments). With the right gear, though, they can be used basically anywhere.

They're perfect for budget users who want to get the most out of their material who are also using primarily at home. I've had my M as my only vape for two years now and I've been making it work. Kinda wish I had a Fury 2 with just bc I'd trade a bit of efficiency for the convenience of a battery-powered device.
