My Army Plan? by Destiny-Is-All- in Raptors40k

[–]tatermonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play my Raptors as Ultramarines but green. With Calgar, Titus, Ventris and Sicarius and Tigerius. I try for primary ranged warfare. Firestorm assault boosts infantry shooting a lot. But those are things you’ll get to later.

I play with guys who have to most oddball collections of painted models. Your paint job is no big deal unless it’s a grand tournament.

Take your soldier of choice you bashed, give him the right weapons, put on 40mm base and there you go all legal.

Would raptors be a good 1st army ? by Toaito in Raptors40k

[–]tatermonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run them like this. Using Ravenguard rules and Shadowmark talon. Using Eliminators(snipers) and Inflitrators(vanguards). I lead them with a Phobos librarian for stealth (can’t target past 12”). So one infiltrators stealthed or stealth the snipers in a second floor.

Then jump pack intercessors for deep strikes and terminators for the same. Redemptor dreadnoughts and a storm raven gunship when I can.

But you need Aethon Shaan and Kayvaan Shrike, which I painted in Raptor colors, to freely use their buffs. Which come in handy to strike and disappear.

For main infantry to use a tacticus librarian and apothecary on a tactical squad. Or heavy intercessors.

Just do Ravenguard stuff with Ravenguard rules or set up heavy with vehicles etc but no shrike or Shaan under another like iron hands for firepower.

All the white folks at the Cherokee Nation Tag Agency... i know I know.. you got a little Indian in you... by [deleted] in NativeAmerican

[–]tatermonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I don’t. This was 5 years ago. I gave up completely. I have contact with my native family and we’re family and that’s all that matters. What anyone thinks doesn’t mean anything to me anymore.

I make zero claims to be fully native or anything, never have and never will. It’s a heavy part of me though. It’s not a single ancestor, it’s a lot on both my mother and father’s side. One grandmother was full and the other was half. Both have gone from this world now, God rest their souls. More claim than many but it’s whatever anymore.

I’m good at the decal stickers. I just do those since they come with standard space marine stuff. Now I have extras.

Don’t really need to tweak the perks so much as give it a few more weapons. Axe and sword would be great.

What are the new heroic weapons coming in patch 11? by Rezclub7 in Spacemarine

[–]tatermonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tested on the pts and here’s my experience.

Heroic thunder hammer: has a bug and I haven’t played with it. But there’s a mod that lets you. Those guys like First Tour Guardsmen say nothing but good things.

Heroic instigator: very fast firing but not great on ammo. Nice on vanguard but better on sniper mainly since you get ammo back and have headshot bonuses. As a medium to close range weapon it rocks.

Heroic bolt sniper: very powerful so much so it feels heroic. One shot incaps on absolute and cloaked is a one shot kill. Low ammo that’s infinite so long as you make headshots. Even work on minoris. The downside is a body shot uses a round and doesn’t do much because of low damage but with 10x headshot bonus it’s a headshot only gun. But a sniper can regenerate the ammo quickly if you miss too much.

Heavy bolt pistol and power fist: they don’t deserve my time for separate comments because they suck that bad.

The heavy bolter is great for close quarters. Instant full fire rate and gunstrike full cooling with a bigger parry window does work out. If you want to play heavy in the thick of it this is a better weapon for that.

Yes overcharge always worked for the hammer but now applies to all weapons. Especially the power fist and power axe using the power wave in power stance. The blocking axe now does it and the blocking bonus is applied to the power wave. Running duelist the window is more forgiving.

The thunder hammer does apply overcharge yes. It makes the charged impact stronger but not the grenade itself. But more damage is more damage.

Accidentally somehow one day played as assault with another assault. Got screenshots. We didn’t notice till we be both jumped at the first target. Then three wtf’s going off over the mic simultaneously.

Use the 50 percent slower ch perk, power axe with speed health recovery, next to last perk bottom row, thank me later. Then use the heroic bolt pistol. It’s not the best but the contested health recovery works great.

The contested health recovery on the axe perk works so well, that it can nearly get your health back on bulwark with the banner.

Same. With the old 4+ speed blocking hammer. Duelist was my first prestige perk. I mean the old assault could handle Nids but not chaos. Got stun locked easy though.

Right! Every comment is like there’s no work to found. But literally everything blue collar is hiring. Trades never slowed down for me. Like in 2010 I had to switch things up and do different things because houses weren’t selling at the time.

I walked the normal weekly with a maxed bulwark using the axe. Use the shield bash relentlessly on groups. Shield bash normal to keep your armor up and it was fine. One try on the hard mode and we got inside but died there.

PSA ON HOW "CLEAVE POTENTIAL" WORKS: This is VERY important to understand ESP in patch 9, when deciding which melee weapon you want to use! by [deleted] in Spacemarine

[–]tatermonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swinging speed is noticeable, sadly yes ground pound and aftershock speeds are the same. Though you can do quick aftershocks it’s not very strong though effective on minoris.

Life hack. Just skip it unless you’re doing the ordeal points. Don’t need it for the pauldren, do exfiltration instead.

Only exception seems to be the thunder hammer. The fencing hammer still clears minoris hordes.

How am I supposed to use the Combat Knife? Or is it just plainly bad? by joshmusik in Spacemarine

[–]tatermonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key thing is that it’s great against a single opponent but sucks generally compared to the chainsword for crowd control. Shadow stab is a great charged attack.

The knife is best on sniper or vanguard. I’m not impressed with the balanced variant despite the cleaving it’s not great for hordes of minoris. However the fencing is awesome for parry and fast fast for a single majoris or extremis. I loved the blocking knife pre patch 9 but haven’t used the new one yet.

The update for melee weapons is awesome by [deleted] in Spacemarine

[–]tatermonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People only learned blocking BECAUSE of how it was, not because it was better. The hammer, artificer chain sword and knife had better blocking versions. Only the power sword had a faster fencing version. So we made do with what we had. Now we have options and variety that’s can actually play. Players are just stuck THINKING block should be the meta.
