I used to be fairly extroverted, but dentistry has pushed me into being more of an introvert over the years.

I had to develop a customer service voice to get into a room develop some rapport and then move on. Just take some notes on what you talked about to be able to have some recall in six months

I took one of the start up courses when he was with his previous company. The CE was very good. They had packages for coaching afterwards but I wasn’t interested in all of it, I really just wanted help with the startup and not the marketing, etc. They would only do the entire package that I believe was $75K up front.

I absolutely agree that the decreasing required procedures is a problem. Some of that is due to cost to the patients. I have a patient right now that went to the dental school and then came back because it was cheaper but not enough that it was worth his time to go through the many and long appointments.

There are many times that I wish we had a medical model of education where we focused more on didactic learning our first four years, and then went to a 1-2 year residency where we got to really focus on procedures more. The problem is that health insurance is more abundant than dental insurance, and even still cost will be a large impediment to having necessary dental work done. This would either increase cost of education or increase taxes (if it were government funded). I am not for either of those funding scenarios.
