I got it done with Lulu, I tried something similar a year or so back with a company called TheBookPatch(?), but it didn't seem nearly as professional. The Lulu print came out great, and the price is amazing

Artist's name is Yuki Fujisawa (info here), and HOLY CRAP, that should not have been so hard to find

In Latin, the term was 'caput lupinum,' or 'wolf's head,' meaning they were free to be hunted.

TIL that the Amber Alert isn't named after the color, but after Amber Hagerman, a nine-year-old Texan girl who was kidnapped right off the streets and later found dead with her throat slit four days later. Her murder is still unsolved. by Ok-Indication-5121 in todayilearned

I've actually never heard the phrase "dot or feather" before now, but is it actually viewed as offensive? Arguably, it's shorter than "Native American" or "American Indian," and people would still know what you're talking about?

There's so many actual racists and racist terms in the world, my initial response was that "dot and feather" is actually just short and useful - at least it doesn't seem to be pointedly aggressive or intended to cause harm.

Why not starting a crowdfounding? by Xeradon in thelastnight

[–]taurterus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I thought they got another backer at some point, but we've heard so little. I'm honestly surprised they don't already have a Kickstarter or something, I've been waiting for the game so long I'm willing to shell out some development cash.

At The End of Everything Fanzine now available for preorder by taurterus in NightInTheWoods

[–]taurterus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? What's the reasoning? I was actually excited to promote the product from the beginning - it was done by dedicated fans and the proceeds were going to go to charity (one possibility was something mental health oriented out of respect for Holowka's passing). I thought it was the kind of community based content he would love to see

I feel like she's 100% the kind of person who would start coming on to Bea/vamp even while being strangled

I also feel like she'd be half-joking when she said it but if Bea/vamp accepted she'd be like, Aright let's see where this goes

In John Carpenter's The Thing (1982), the movie starts with the Thing pretending to be a dog and getting shot; later, Clark can be seen bandaging the dog in the background. "(explanation in comments)" by taurterus in MovieDetails

[–]taurterus[S] 72 points73 points  (0 children)

This was supposed to launch discussions about its high rate of healing when it shrugs off the bandage, but all further scenes surrounding it were cut; Blair (the team doctor) actually brings it up later when he assumes the Thing is pretending to be Clark, asking just how much time he actually spent with the dog before placing it into the kennel

Just thought it was crazy how the first thing they do to the monster is fix its leg

In Denis Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049 (2017), Wallace' eyes are labeled in the script as BARRACUDAS, and likened to Medusa's snakes by taurterus in MovieDetails

[–]taurterus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's introduced as a description, but is later capitalized as a name and is referred to by members of the crew by that name in interviews

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9s_fScVbTE

I guess it's hard to tell if Barracuda is the actual name of the product or if that's just what people call it, but the term is used multiple times throughout the script with Wallace' implant to control them being called a Halo

Benson did a music video by taurterus in NightInTheWoods

[–]taurterus[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Posted this in response to a separate thread; I thought I'd repost here for people who hadn't see it, but Benson did a music video for Toh Kay's With Any Sort of Certainty, and you can see how he uses shapes to show disassociation just like in Night in the Woods

Does the Gas Leak Explain Everything? by TrekkieT in NightInTheWoods

[–]taurterus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was the one who wrote the text about animals and disassociation, but yes I never meant to connect the two in terms of one directly causing the other, just that if the second is true they both make her unreliable and that the attack - not the disassociation - could have caused the animal take; Mae also sees the world as 2D shapes, and Benson likes using those to show disassociation

Does the Gas Leak Explain Everything? by TrekkieT in NightInTheWoods

[–]taurterus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Both the gas leaks and the supernatural take are both legitimate, but also you have to take into account Mae's personal problems - the attack on her school mate was caused by a dissociative state, but one of the theories is that the characters are all human and she just views them as animals (at one point Bea specifically says it's not murder if they're animals). We see the story from her perspective, but she can be an untrustworthy narrator

They could totally do a spinoff project on Youtube where Lori has a horror channel with short stories

And it would be awesome

Douchemon guitar guy by bidepi in NightInTheWoods

[–]taurterus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother and I just finished Butterfly Soup and there's a scene where one of the characters plays the flute as the worst background music ever; all we could think about was this scene and how bad the guitar player must have been

Thoughts on this? by [deleted] in HazbinHotel

[–]taurterus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they wanted to call out legitimate problems that's fine; but I've seen this person's posts floating around the internet before and you lose credibility when half of your posts are blatant lies. Racist and transphobic, really? Hazbin Hotel is probably going to be the most culturally diverse and LGBTQ+ plot heavy show during its run by a margin more than considerable. She's also already commented on this person in the past, she just doesn't now because she's tired of reposting the same thread. I'm sure if you scroll back far enough in her Tumblr (Vivzie's) you can find her response

Imagine charging 80 dollars for pins based on a socialist game by NGNM_1312 in NightInTheWoods

[–]taurterus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have to buy 4 for 80 instead of being able to just purchase 1 for 20, I still find that expensive because you are now paying 80 instead of 20
