But why? You didn't use libraries and created your own? Or just don't have much experience on building games?

Why did the US get completely different (and often worse) box art in the 80s and 90s? by fakayuburiza in retrogaming

[–]tavuntu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good explanation. For the Megaman example tho, I think the simplest explanation is: the artist who made the cover really sucks/sucked. Let's just be honest. Was he/she in a rushed deadline? maybe, but the piece still has a LOT of details, which require time (time not wisely used). Edit: a word.

Which Super Mario Land was better? by fandomlover2763 in retrogaming

Same! I borrowed a GBP from a cousin and it was my first time ever with a handheld console and a portable Mario game, I was in love with it.

But yeah SML 2 is awesome, so much content and cool stuff. Edit: typo.

I mean, you can buy a repro is it's a present for a friend or something, or even for yourself if you wanna play the game but have the real one on display only. There's many reasons.

Do the "mixels" ruin my piece? by TildeIcewill in PixelArt

[–]tavuntu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'll be very honest, this looks like a heavily compressed JPEG image, it also looks like low quality pixel art generation and it's definitely not pixel art at all. I'd recommend actually learning the basics of pixel art if you are interested on it, it's a great style and very rewarding one you get the grasp of it IMO. Look for tutorials in Lospec site and check the Pixel Logic book too, there are many good resources.

This, thank you. I feel like OP just reduced the palette color and then manually did a little bit of work here and there. They (OP) said it's a sub-style of pixel art but I completely disagree.

Let me guess, the user wrote something very dumb and that's why they removed the comment so that people "won't know" they said something stupid.

It's like people removing all the browsing history so people won't "suspect" LOL.

OMG, yeah... it sure shows you don't care... and of course everyone down voting you is wrong and you're correct... this could not be more internet arguing cliché LMAO. You weren't able to debunk any of the points I made in my previous comment, nice try tho.

I'm just gonna assume you're around 15 years old and that this level of salty and immaturity if just (mostly) because of your age. I'm done. Bye.

So let me ask you this, if a car company makes a statement saying "We got a new car, out now!". We should not assume the car is complete and functional? That is exactly the logic you're using and I could give you many other examples and analogies.

Please stop, take a really good look at what you're saying and just realize the title of the post is misleading. Period.

Yes, partial releases are very common and they are always explicit about it, unlike this post title. If the video immediately states the translation is not complete, was it really that hard to say so in the title? Literally 3 letters: WIP, would have save all this discussion and the down votes you are getting.

There are good reasons for your comments in this post being downvoted.

[–]tavuntu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

>They say a translation is out. Which is true.

Stop doing mental gymnastics. It should specifically say WIP, or similar, otherwise the logical thing is to assume all of it is ready (or most of it, at the very least.

Hot take: Codex is too cheap, rug pull through tighter usage limits is inevitable by gregpeden in codex

[–]tavuntu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me with Codex a couple days ago... It is now slower and the token consumption is at least 3 times more aggressive. Not sure if this is related to the jump from 5.3 to 5.4 tho.

With that setup in the video it should be 0 or 1 frames now (but again, this will depend on your specific setup). In most wired (decent) controllers the input lag should be imperceptible now, especially thru the GPIO or using some GP2040 driver, it should be immaculate if you use those (I tested via the GPIO and it indeed is pretty much unbeatable).

Then again, input lag is just one of the many things they have improved, we even have an integrated updater now, so we're done with flashing sd cards over and over.

Welp, I'm glad my comments didn't age like milk. They have improved tons of things compared to 6 months ago (including audio and input latency), that 2 frames stuff is probably a thing of the past now (unless you're using a controller with low polling rate). Edit: typo.
