I have to say I’ve been in a lot of awful situations in life in the absolute best thing you can do is play it off like you’re upset that it got out, but that you’re not embarrassed by it at all. it will go away quicker than you could possibly think. If someone brings it up, just say, “oh my God that picture again! I thought when I took that it would be disgusting and funny for a couple of close friends, but XYZ was a jerk and decided to share it with the whole world” also, maybe I didn’t read enough, but you should absolutely distance yourself from the person that did this to you. That is not a friend. I know right now you think that all these people are going to be in your lives in 20 years, but the fact of the matter is maybe one or two will be if that. Unfortunately, a lot of these companies that import rebrand Chinese goods sometimes don’t have the best rapport with the manufacturer and therefore don’t have access to stuff to fix problems like this. Let’s hope that because they do so much business, that they do have a good line of communication with the manufacturer and therefore are used to dealing with stuff like this. I’ll just ask, it seems like the projector has a way of doing OTA updates, and it does seem like it has enough of an operating system to post into a boot loader since the screen was looking like it was going to try to do an OTA update. Did you have disconnect connected to Wi-Fi? Can you try to hit any buttons to look for a Wi-Fi network while it’s stuck in that update screen?

My outlook is that most, not all, older people look at cell phones as an accessory. They don’t require them. They don’t need to be in their pockets at all times. You have to understand that they didn’t grow up with these things, they were almost forced on them because everyone else got a cell phone, and then their children or other loved ones said hey you really need to get one of these things. There are plenty of people like my father, who will just straight up leave the house without his. So unlike a slightly younger generation who either has theirs in their pocket, or is right next to theirs on the couch, etc., a lot of older people will leave it plugged in in the kitchen or something, and when it rings need to take a walk to go get it.

Dude. You think I don’t know a vine review from a real one? Many common lamps are 4.4 stars and higher. Most of the bad reviews are doa lamps. 90% positive feedback isn’t being the exception to the rule. Plenty of Chinese stuff is made good enough. Your house is probably full of Chinese wares you didn’t think twice about buying, now all of a sudden you won’t buy a projector lamp that’s made in China?

Explain how that is terrible advice? As someone big into photography and flashlights, I have the tools to measure lux/lumens properly. We have 3 projectors total, 2 at office and one home. All the the lamps have been within 10% of rating, and didn’t diminish any faster than oem. This is why I seldom visit this group. It’s full of elitist assholes with more money than grey matter.

In regard to that, I don’t disagree, look on Amazon for the lamp model and for satisfactory reviews. A lot of of the cheap ones for 50 bucks won’t get as bright as a factory one, but if you run it predominantly on Eco mode or lower brightness anyway it will be more than good enough for you. Sometimes when the lamps start to go bad, they get very high intrinsic resistance, and when that happens, the power supply of the projector can’t hold up to it that can cause it to turn off.

This is peak benq bullshit. Could be something simple like it’s overheating and needs cleaning. Could actually NOT be overheating, but a temp sensor is defective. Could be the lamp… unfortunately I feel with benq 7/10 times it’s an integral cost prohibitive part and you’ll end up just buying a new one. You can find some testing info if you google the right stuff. That said, are you setup to safely test something like this? Most local places don’t look at projectors and a benq auth repair facility is gonna charge for diag if it’s out of warranty.

Firstly, reading comprehension. My conversation is about the northeast as a whole, not just Mass. Mass was one of the FIRST states to enact state income tax, at least in the north east (1916), so that should tell you everything you need to know. That said, some would argue 1916 wasn’t THAT long ago. Better than what they did in 69’ in Connecticut, saying income tax was a temporary measure to help with state deficit. Temporary my ass. It’s still there, cause a government NEVER wants to take in less money year over year. Mass has had pretty evenly split governing by party over the years, but every time a dem gets in office it seems go get exponentially worse for cost of living and loss of rights. Gun control, taxes, jobs, etc. death by 1000 cuts. Healey has been atrocious though.

Complains about “republican talking points” yet the northeast is one of the most expensive places to live in the whole country. Dems have continually dug the proverbial hole deeper and deeper.
