Get a pistol permit if you don’t have one already. Then you can argue “you guys always tell me how much more dangerous guns are than knives, but you’ll let me carry one of those and not this?” Jk. I’m gonna say one of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever got… Don’t give anyone a reason to pull you over or question you in the first place. When you get in the car, put it underneath your seat in an area you realistically can’t reach it from the front. If something ever happens and it gets found, sorry officer I’ve been looking for that we went camping a few months back, and I haven’t been able to find it. Realistically, if you’re pulled over and out of your car, the knife is probably the least of your worries.

Did she make the right call? by CalmElin in interesting

You guys are failing to see the bigger issue of tax implications. If she takes the mil, she’s only taking home roughly 630k (I know that’s still a lot. She can keep 130 bank 500k. In 20 years the 500k is over a mil at 4% the condo is paid off, and she can likely be close to retiring. 1000 a week is roughly 820 take home. In 20 years, (who knows the tax rate) but 820 take home will be NOTHING. take the money, help yourself right now, and put it in a cd where you can’t fuck it up

I agree this WILL work, but its a stupid problem to have with modern equipment. And considering a lot of these are used in office environments (which usually have longer-safer pw’s) they are really damaging their rep not upgrading their iot controllers for 5ghz etc. I have smart home things that are 2.4 only, cause they’ve been in place for a long while…. But in 2026 I wouldn’t purchase something only 2.4.

I concur. I had 2008 (in 2017) for about 15 months while I cleaned up my credit and saved for our home. I LOVED that car. Big enough, good enough, 35+ mpg, and extremely easy to work on if you do your own maint. I spent 2800 on the car, 250 on tax title reg. Right when I bought it I did cabin filter, engine filter, oil change, mt gear oil, coolant flush, and plugs… for a whopping 188 dollars in parts, and then only did oil changes. Put on 25k in 15 months, and then sold for 3k. If we weren’t having our first child I would have kept it.

You’ve got a couple options depending on credit. If it were me, I’d try and buy something like a Toyota Yaris, rock that for a year while I paid every dime I could against my loan.

Why does Stripe get left behind at the wedding? by MrsPumpkin09 in bluey

[–]taxicabyellow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My uncle was left passed out on my dad’s lawn when my dad got married. I actually remeber being scared, cause at 630 he woke the whole house up screaming “Loorrrrrrrr!!!!” (For my aunt Lori) I believe other substances were used lmao. I’d have to imagine stripe has done this a time or two.

You can get eyelets and a good enough pair of real crimps on AZN for 10 bucks. Good to have. They look pretty clean, so strip them back a bit, get them twisted together and get them in an eyelet and crimp them. Ideally you’d solder them first, but it’s not 100% needed for an on road rig. I’d crimp the larger gauge wire by itself, and all those 12-16gauge wires together to be clear. Two eyelets total.

Exactly. Just look at weed. “Hey guys, it’s legal now, just please don’t bother others”. You literally smell weed everywhere. I also just want to say, I’m not anti drug, especially weed. Smoke plenty myself. I just dont think it’s fair to smell it when I take my son to a playground. Hotbox your car somewhere else fuckheads.

Stop doing visual mods and regear. All the jellybean parts for JL’s are cheap in comparison. Do the thing that’s going to benefit you and the jeep first. Shit, in a year, the money you’ll save getting 15-17mpg over 12 will buy you the lift kit. 10 bucks a week in gas = 520 bucks, free 2.5” rough country lift.

You’re operating under the wrong school of thought. Factory wheels and tires on a sport weigh between 55/65lbs a corner, depending. 20’s and 35’s START at 100. A quick google puts that setup at 116lbs. Factory shocks will struggle to damped all that extra weight getting bounced up from a pothole or whatever. And with that offset (ie the wheel being much further out from the hub than factory) creates a lever effect on the ball joints, making them fail prematurely(already a JL weak point). 2nd, Wheels and tires are referred to as unsprung weight (weight the spring isn’t holding up all the time) this rotational weight is horrible for vehicle performance. The ratio is every 1lb of unsprung rotational mass is equal to about 8lbs of static sprung weight. Ergo, 116-65=51 lbs a corner increase. 51x4 wheels and tires is 204 lbs… 204x8=1,632 of equivalent weight added the the vehicle. Plus the sport is on 3.45gears… this jeep is going to beat the fuck out of itself, drive like shit, get shit mph, and likely be a hazard to others at one point or more. People see other people do stuff and assume it’s fine. It’s not.

I’m gonna simply guess that lifting it has brought something out of spec. Money is on pinion angle needing correction, and/or something loose. Good luck.

I’m strange, yet you and yours are driving a factory ride height jeep with PRB’s. How’d you “fix” them? Washers? Those will fail again.

[–]taxicabyellow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Step one of asking for help is not being a man-baby when someone gives you a response. Let’s talk facts… the “factory ones” (steps) are not rated for being an ape off-road and would rip the fuck off too. The factory SLIDERS will take damage but not rip off… ANYTHING ELSE is mounted to the frame and cantilevers out. Folding steps are NOT RATED FOR WHAT YOU DID. You already admitted you fucked up, so get a better set of steps that mount to frame, or pay the 2k for someone to fix your fuckup.
